Fantastic Day At The River.....Gold, Silver, Coins & More.

Just a beautiful day to be out by a river prospecting and metal detecting. Got some gold, a nice piece of petrified wood and great finds in and near
the river.

Headed out this morning with both a metal detector and prospecting gear. Sunny, warm and a typical fall adventure with no more bugs. Love It!

Here are the finds from the river. A nice variety too.

I was just stoked when I got that trade bead. I researched it and am 99% sure it is a trade item. Getting a silver coin was bonus!

Just befoe I left, I eyeballed this beautiful piece of petrified wood reflecting the sun at me. I love it when you can still see the grain of the wood.

And I always get at least a small pinch of flour gold.

Do you find any mercury while prospectig? I got out for 1.5 hrs using standard mode. Only found 3 pennies and a large thin tag that had A-1 on it. Read plus 74. Well overgrown. Time for a new spot to detect.

Yes I do. I find the odd little ball of that stuff left over from the prospectors from 100 years ago. I save it and have a small ball of it loaded with gold.

It really isn't that much if I were to weigh it. Mabe 0.2 gram. Finding it is kind of like metal detecting. There are hunted out spots, spots with little gold and sometimes you find a good streak of gold. It's the "search" that is most of the fun.
 
Hey John, what about all them Gold coins you been buying with pennies all these years?
Value musta got quite a jump with the recent surge in Gold.
