I was Blessed

Well-known member
I was out riding my bike when I had a flat tire 9 miles from home. I tried to fix it with the tools I had with me but could not fix it. This guy in a truck drives by and asks if I needed any help. He pulls over fixes the issue then gives me a ride home as it is cold out and dark now. Asks nothing in return. I felt truly blessed.

You were. Acts such as these helps to reinforce the fact that good people still exist in the world today.

A kind and thoughtful act of compassion from a stranger to stop and help. Those events make me feel hopeful for the future. I feel that after we receive an act of kindness our kindness towards others will grow. Recently both my wife and I have had serious health problems. The kindness of hospital staff was amazing. Neighbors had noticed that something was off about our routine. They have reached out offering their help for anything that we could need. Covid, and division over issues had separated people from reaching out to offer assistance. Many would tell us to be suspicious of others motives. Hopefully the kindness you experienced is a trend towards neighbors helping each other.
Just thoughts on life from an old man’s perspective.
