Deus 2 audio module ws6 modification

Has anyone took the audio module jack for the ws6 puck and hard wired it into a set of full size headphones for true wireless operation seems pretty straightforward in theory but might be more difficult than a few soldered in wires, anyway if someone has done that and it worked let me know

That idea has crossed my mind and would be easer to shorten the cord instead of digging into the headphones, thank you so very much

I had in mind to open the headphones up and attach the wires through the headphones via drilled holes and solder directly to the module and screw the module down to the headphones without any exposed wires but your method has crossed my mind and would be less time and simpler to do,thanks again

interesting post. How to get my ancient Killer bees that I loved, working wirelessly with my Deus.

You will need some spacers under the mounting screws to raise the adaptor above headphone body, so that the puck has room to slide on. I used ~2mm thick nylon washers that I had, but any non-conductive material will work.
I used a cheap set of ANC headphones in hopes of taking advantage of noise cancelling, but NC is only designed to work through BT. Plugging into the jack disables it.
If you do use rechargeable ANC headphones, they have a Li-Po battery just under the earpiece body on the same side as the jack (at least mine did), so be careful if you plan to drill your mounting holes without first disassembling the headset.
I really enjoy the ones I made. They are very comfortable and lightweight. I hated the Howard Leigh headphones I had before I made these. Felt like my head was in a vice.

Oh, another thought for anybody planning to do the same. Make sure you get a design that gives room for the band swivel to move and a nice surface to mount the puck.
As you can see in the first photo, the swivel hits the puck on mine but was enough room to flex when I put them on.
There are so many styles of inexpensive ANC headsets out there (some don't have the 3.5mm jack). They are discounted right now for BF at around $30.

Thank you this is much appreciated

I use the adapter you can find online that fits to the puck, and then my headphones. The only thing is it has a 3.5 mm jack. I use a 6 cm replacement foam earphone pad to cover the board on the back of the puck, and drop it in my pocket.

Here's a good cheap set of headphones for anybody looking to construct a set of headphones with their WS6 puck. It has the 3.5mm input jack.
I found them on Amazon through Slickdeals. U need the coupon code to get them for $12. I bought a pair and they are nice.
However, you have to figure out how to attach the headphone adapter board. I tried to take them apart (not knowing the procedure) and felt I was going to break them or ruin the ear muffs trying to remove them. Instead, DANGER-Do not drill the body without knowing where the battery is located!
I made an adapter and will be gluing it on. Can show later as I'm pressed for time and have yet to complete the project.
Just wanted to share the deal before it's gone. Hope this helps.

Use headphones with 3.5mm plug, mount module to them on the cord side and shorten the cord from the inside of headphones and re solder so it’s just long enough to plug into the module then plug it in slide on your puck, very simple and effective with minimal soldering skills

This is my latest headset made with the $12 Black Friday Baseus BT headset deal. If I factor in the cost of additional materials like hardware and MEK solvent for making the ABS plastic glue, they actually cost much more to complete the ensemble.

I took the ABS plastic mounting posts from a small electronic enclosure I had, screwed them to the WS6 adapter board, then used the ABS glue and mounted the whole assembly to the headset. It's oriented so that the WS6 puck is upright for aesthetics.
Purchased the 3.5mm patch cord from Amazon, it was the perfect length. No soldering was required for this build. MEK solvent is getting hard to find locally. Seems another chemical the do-gooders want to ban.
The only thing available locally was MEK substitute and I didn't trust it to work for my needs. Best online price was $20/qt.

I remember buying a Samsung TV in the 70's. I was skeptical of the cheap unknown electronic brand but ended up very pleased with the purchase.
Baseus reminds me of that Samsung TV. Flooding the market with a low priced, solid product, and establishing a name for themselves. But where they go with it, remains to be seen.
