Ctx3030 or the Manticore, What would be your choice of Detector and WHY???
Really Appreciate any Input and Thanks to those who respond!!!
Which machine Separates better? Which machine Alerts you to more targets?
Is one machine Superior for Gold & Silver? Which machine handles different Soils better?
Again Thanks to all that Respond.

Which machine Separates better?
Manticore
Which machine Alerts you to more targets?
Manticore
Is one machine Superior for Gold & Silver?
Gold: Manticore. Gold as in gold jewelry, micro jewelry and gold nugget prospecting
Silver: at least where I detect Manticore wins because of the next question. It's not close. Multi IQ is far superior in the dirt conditions here for all deep target detecting compared to FB2
Which machine handles different Soils better?
Manticore

Which is less likely to cause me wrist, shoulder, back and hip issues?
Manticore

I am only answering from my perspective from actual experience owning and using both on the exact same ground.
I am not making a universal statement about these two detectors or recommending one over another for deep silver.
Again Thanks to all that Respond.

I can’t speak for the CTX but can for etrac. I also can’t beat jmaclen’s excellent response.

Compared to the etrac the manticore:

1. Much, much faster target response and separation. Therefore it also alerts you to more targets.
2. It is deeper detecting and also indicates smaller targets and smaller targets deeper.
3. Easier to set up and to change parameters on the go. An example being sensitivity, recovery speed and setting up soft key buttons for ground balance and noise cancellation.
4. Ability to hunt with multi frequency or single frequency with same detector.
5. Much better screen, screen layout and backlight.
6. Blows etrac away in ergonomics and how light it is.
I could probably add much more but think you get the idea. I do have to say I am digging more iron and non ferrous junk with the manticore. Not a lot but then I am finding more desirable targets in the iron and junk with manticore. I also do not consider myself proficient with it yet so that is understandable.

I do miss the target ID of the etrac. For instance I could easily distinguish shot gun head stamps and .22 casings with the etrac compared to the manticore. Also the overlap of nickel range on the manticore leads to more aluminum trash found with the manticore. That ferrous conductive scale on the etrac should have been retained for the manticore IMHO. Also hard to beat the tones of the etrac. Manticore isn’t bad just not in the same league.
