Mangled Morgan, Walker and Barbers

Thanks, here is that bottle and axe head. Not sure what that other item is. Almost looks like an old file.

They were always very eager to see what I found and Dad would often go with me on my excursions when I went to see them on the farm on the western side of the state.

Finds are from my latest weekend hunts with my XP Deus 2 machines that are set up with different coils.
Most everything was found at public parks, schools and fairgrounds except for the chewed up Morgan dollar, an Indian head and V nickel.
Those 3 coins along with the Axe head and bottle were pulled at a street tear out I came across. The 1893 barber dime was pulled just a few minutes from home at a local school.
I nailed the half dollar in a MN city park on Saturday and was happy to see that one.

A deeper mercury dime was about 30 feet away. The little Buster Brown pin came from chasing a deep low tone, and with the cartoon dating back to 1902 it has some real age to it. The C & NW railroad button was another surprise because it rang up more like a wheat penny, and the back mark should put it somewhere around the early 1900s. Finds like that are why I like checking every odd signal instead of assuming what it is. Tropical Casino https://tropical-casino.com/ scratches a similar itch for me when I browse unfamiliar slot themes or bonus features just to see what turns up. I found a similar button a few years ago, but that one was smashed.

Sorry for your loss, Dave. Losing both of them so close together like that is a lot to carry. There's something fitting about dedicating a dig to them though, especially your dad riding along on those trips. That's a good way to keep him with you out in the field.


Hell of a spread here too. That 1893 Barber dime a few minutes from home is the kind of thing that keeps you swinging, and pulling a half and a merc thirty feet apart in a city park is a great Saturday. The war nickels and the Indian heads back to 1889 are no slouch either. And I'm with you on that heart cutout merchant token, you just don't see those come up.


That street tear out sounds like it was hiding some real age with the Morgan, the Indian and the V all together. Those spots are gold when you catch them before they get paved back over.
