I emailed XP about the Icon and Icon X

As you guys already know I bought just an Icon remote and paired it to my Deus 2 9 inch coil. I am not after anything in particular other than coins and relics.

Other than Paystreak Superfreak, The Scottish Detectorist and a few of the Russian guys no one else has posted videos of actual use of the icon in the field.
Everyone else is using the Icon X.

Squirrel aka TNSharpeshooter took the time to show me and the world what the Icon X mono frequencies are paired with both the HF2 coil and the FMF 9 coil on the Icon X. There are no references to the Icon series having extra available mono frequencies when paired to a Deus 2 coil in the Icon manual.

The new XP YouTube video poster boy, Only Me Again Detecting, with his icon video states they have the same performance but the Icon was on a more simple platform.

So I was curious and emailed XP to ask them if the Icon X had any performance advantage over the Icon and here is the screen shot of my questions and their reply.

After reading this it seems the Icon X might have a slight edge over the Icon in both seperation and depth due to the 2 extra steps of the recovery speed.

Recovery speed is a big deal. Adjacent targets is where it’s at. So making sense that there is a noticeable difference in the units. Obviously the D2s adjustability is king.

Yes it is. And to be fair even though the icon, icon x and Deus 2 can share accessory coils they are totally different detectors.

There are many videos already showing how the icon and icon x act on targets compared to the Deus 2.

My little demo videos are geared toward those 1st generation Deus and ORX owners who may be considering an icon unit. I think the full tone option on the square audio feature im itself is worth trying an icon or icon x.

Plus they are more so all in the same price category depending on what set up you get.
