    Ok, thanks. I was thinking if I wanted to fine tune my notch I will probably have to edit the regular VDI numbers (19-20) instead of the 56-57 it shows on the display.

    I assigned 55-60 for nickels and then numbers 80 and up for zinc pennies and above. I turned the normalization off thinking it would give me better target resolution on the low conductor side of things.     I setup a program to run single frequency 22k with notches for nickels and zinc coins and above. So the only targets that should sound off would be the nickel zone and any coins from zinc penny and up. All the other TID numbers were rejected. I took the normalization off but I get no sound on...

    Need help with an ID on a 5 cent piece

    I found this today. It is just about the same size as a regular nickel but is a lot thinner. The front and back are the same. It will register just below zinc penny. Because of the depth I dug it at and the condition I am assuming it is old.

    I have to go out of town this week but should be able to get back out there this weekend. I will try the mixed mode and try to ground balance between each change and a slower sweep speed wih the higher recovery delays. Do you think I should keep autotrack turned off.

    It is auto tracking, not auto G/B. You set the G/B and then the V will attempt to change the G/B as the ground changes. I guess I have more to learn than I thought.....;o) I assumed when you had it on autotrack it would go ahead and set the GB when you started swinging. Ok, going to read...

    I usually use the 5 band filter. If you notice on the video I was using a lot of discrimination too. I may have been able to get a better signal if I had it wide open.
