Any tips for a soon to be QXT owner?

Always wanted to try one, now I got one coming. Seems like a simple machine to use. Just wondering if anyone with some experience on one could give a heads up on the operation of the QXT. Thanks for any info. KurtB

    FISHER 1200 SERIES 5X10" COIL f/s $55.00 shipped.

Here is a chance to get this very hard to find coil. Fisher put a new strain relief on it less than a year ago. The coil cover is siliconed on so no dirt gets in. For anyone that uses a 1235 or 1236 in competition hunts this coil is great. $55.00 shipped. MO or paypal. The only thing I would...

fs: Eagle II sl $300 shipped !!!

This is a nice detector, not all beat up like some. Everything works as it should, even the light. It has all if not more features that many of the new machines have. The discrimination is great and it can be programmed to go deep. Create a program you like and save it in one of two user program...

How are you M6 users doing?

What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Does it have good target separation compaired to some of the new detectors out there? Can you crank up the sensitivity and still have a stable machine? Use an Xterra 70 but want a faster response time with a tone ID in some cases. Just...

    Changing CZ20 coils

Has anyone here ever changed to a different coil on their cz20? I really don't want to send it off, it doesn't seem like it would be that hard. I would like to get some info. from you if you have done it. Thanks KurtB

On a silver streak with the F5

I have taken the F5 out three times now and found silver each time. Although I can't say much about the depth capabilities of this machine I have to say I sure is fun to use. None of the items in the picture were over six inches deep. I wasn't impressed with the quick air tests I did but all the...

Tweaking the GB for a tad more depth.

I have a couple of spots that the 3 kHz coil has found me some nice old coins. I don't think the amount of trash will allow me to use a larger coil effectively. Could you explain how to tweak the ground balance to gain a little more depth? I have read that it can be done and I would like to try...

Metal everywhere. No place to ground balance.

I have been hunting a place that has so much junk that I can't find a clean area (within reason) to ground balance my X-70. I have tried AutoTrack but the detector is jittery. I have lowered the sensitivity, noise cancelled, switched to the 6" coil, and tried mono tone. I believe the problem is...

    Almost got excited.

Hunted for about two hours today with the 70. Found whats in the picture plus a handful of change. The buffalo nickle is a 1937 and in really good shape. No mint mark that I can make out and it has four legs. The other nickle is a 1943 I think it has a little silver in it I could be wrong. Used...

    20's motel find

Found this at a motel site that was built in the 20's. Folded, it looks like a little book. No markings on the outside of it. Ever seen one before? I would like to find out more about it. Thanks for any help. Kurt

Some finds with the 6" medium freq. coil.

Got out for about an hour today and went to a trashy spot that I had used the 6" high freq. coil on and had a lot of falses from bottle caps and other trash. The medium freq. worked much better and dug only a couple of bottle caps. Didn't find anything great just a couple of interesting tidbits...

10.5 DD 7.5kHz coil is as good as they say.

I used it for the first time at an area that I have detected with other coils and other detectors. I only had a short time to hunt but was very impressed with the target separation and the weight of the coil. A couple of tokens, silver dime, nickle silver spoon, cheapo ring and I don't know...

Trade my Xterra 6"DD for your Xterra 6" 7.5 khz. coil

I would like to trade straight up, shipped. It hasn't been used much at all. Maybe five or six times. PM me if interested. Not for sale. Thanks Kurt Bartek

    F2 large coil

Will the large DD coil that works on the F4 also work on the F2? I thought I saw that it would but can't find the post. Any help? Thanks.

    F2- Technical question.

Anybody out there know if it is possible to adjust the pinpoint sensitivity setting? I would like to lower it to see if the depth readout would be more accurate. Has anyone had one open before? Any adjustment pots? This detector is my sons and I would like to make it a little more accurate for...

    Finally got out.

Found the 1887s at an old fairgrounds horse racing track. It's a bean field now and has been hunted to death. Used the X-70 with the 3khz coil and had a good solid signal at 10 inches. Used 3 tones and only had the highest segment notched out. Found the car, wheaties and 1948 dime at an old...

    Iron Masking?

I have been detecting for a couple of years now and it seems that every detector out there is in some way judged by it's ability to accurately detect in iron. My question is why is detecting in iron so important? Is it a relic hunting thing? I coin hunt most of the time and modern trash is way...
