    TID or monotone?

    Went out hunting today with the 70 set at monotone and a modified coin pattern. I tried to set it up like my old whites unit for some nice relaxing coin hunting. I noticed that in monotone, good targets didn't seem to hit as hard and clear as when using 3 or 4 tones. Didn't come upon anything...

    A couple of questions about GBing and tracking.

    What is the best way to ground balance in very trashy areas. I hunted a spot over the weekend that I couldn't find a clean area. I set the gb to a value that is common to this area.     A question about notching.

    Let me know if I got this right. Gain increases below 6 and above 20 discrimination. If I notch out a segment or two above or below 6 and 20, does it increase the gain too? Seems like my machine gets more chattery when I use notching.

    Need some advice on modern trash.

    I would like to hear how you guys are setting up your machines in city parks and yards where there is a ton of tabs, foil and bottle caps. I know this thing is killer in old sites with iron nails and the like, but I sure have struggled in the areas mentioned above. Thanks.

    X-70 Target Separation.
