Anyone tried the new 9 Inch 3kHz coil on X70?

Has anyone used the New 9 Inch 3kHz coil on their Xterra 70 for relic hunting or coin shooting? Its strange how it looks like a DD coil, but its actually a concentric coil. Impressions from anyone that has tried it?

Depth on CW bullets in prospect mode for X70?

My former relic hunting partner used an Xterra 70 for relic hunting and claimed a couple times to have found a Civil War bullet at 10" using prospecting mode. For those familiar with the Xterra 70, is that possible in moderate ground?

Diff between 10.5 DD 7.5 kHz and the 18.75kHz

Just curious, what is the 7.5kHz best for vs what is the 18.75kHz best for? Which one would be better for relic hunting?

    Machine w/fast target response?

Besides the Fisher F75/F70 are there any other machines with a fast/good seperation and response time? Doesn't matter what manufacturer.

    F75 and Target Seperation

I just started hunting with the F75 and one of the things I'm noticing about my machine is that if there are several targets under the coil and I'm hunting in all metal, it blanks out the VDI and there isn't any tonal seperation, even though its a mix of iron and a good target in my test garden...

What machine has best disc vs. depth?

I'm finding out that with most of the machines I've come into contact, that you get serious depth reduction with any discrimination employed. What machine in your opinion handles discrimination best, with the least loss of depth? Like is there a machine out there that can effectively disc out...

    F75 coil on F70?

I saw where somebody was buying an F75 stock coil for their F70 and I've seen where somebody mentioned using one. Does it seem to give improved performance on the F70 (hoping for impressions from somebody that has tried it) and if so, in what respect ? TIA, Bill W.

Trigger in forward position and noisy

My MXT is fairly quiet with the trigger in the middle position and in relic mode, but if I push it forward it sounds like somebody is shaking a bag full of broken glass in my headphones. Is that normal? I been hunting with MXT for about a year and half now and since I relic hunt the middle...

Question for anybody that hunts with F75...

Have you ever had a problem with the LCD screen getting dinged or scratched up from hunting in the brush? I got one recently and it looks like I might be better off putting on the foul weather cover for extra protection when I go in the woods.

    Weight of Explorer SE ?

WIth the standard coil how much does the Explorer SE weigh? TIA, Bill

    Coin Shooting with the F75?

I'm getting impatient to use this machine in a real world situation (as opposed to backyard simulations) so I'm going to take 'er coinshooting tomorrow. I'm going to try out the small coil as well. Any suggestions on some of the best settings to try out initially? Its a city park, so I'm sure...

Does VDI number drop with depth on F75?

When I used to hunt with the MXT I would always dig deep signals, almost regardless of ID, because the VDI number often would register in the iron range on deep targets and sometimes would turn out to be something else. Is this an issue with the F75?

    A wild idea

Has anyone ever given some consideration to starting a thread that could be entitled, "By Example", where everybody who hunts with an F75 or F70 or one of the other recent Fisher machines, describes one of their experiences in detail. Even if you didn't find anything of real value, describe what...

What are optimal settings for larger targets?

If you were using the F75 to go after larger targets (so as to maximize depth), like gun parts, buckles, a mason jar cache, etc., is there any way to setup that will ignore fairly small targets (like rivets and snaps or like sized targets, non-ferrous as well as ferrous) ?

Anybody getting experience w/F70 coil on F75?

It seems that the F70 coil should get good depth and be less sensitive to EMI. Is anybody working with one to see if that's the case?

    Least expensive practical water machine?

I'm planning on adding a water machine for occasional water work and was wondering what machine is considered the least expensive, but still worthwhile, when it comes to hunting in shallow fresh water or along shallow beach front?

    The F75 and cherry pickin'

Do you think that the F75's fast recovery time allows for a better job of cherry picking trashy sites? Has anyone gone into an area, say a park, that was previously very hard to detect because of the amount of trash, and been able to seperate out a lot of good targets that were missed? I have a...

    Improvement Idea

If Fisher is paying attention to feedback, they ought to know that they have a potential for a real winner if they combined the build quality of their F70 with the processor from the F75. I have both machines in my possession and looking at them it became obvious to me that if you took the F75...
