    Two detectors for Relic Hunting?

    Does anyone on here hunt with a lightweight ID machine to try and locate a site, then switch over to a deeper all metal, heavier, machine to hunt out as much of the site as they can find? I have an X-terra 705 and with the 3khz coil this thing is decent at separation and ID, but kind of stinks...

    Nicer Environmental Covers

    I was struggling to get the stock environmental covers off my machines tonight so I could take the batteries out and it occurred to me that someone must be making nicer covers with velcro closures for these machines. Does anyone have any contact info or prices? TIA, Bill W.

    Best Detector(s) with this criteria

    I'm looking for a lightweight machine (up to and including 4lbs) that has fast recovery (great seperation), is $800 or less, has different coils (such as an 8"DD) and at least tone ID or the single tone is sharp enough to distinguish iron from non iron.

    Has anyone hunted in a CW camp or picket post with a pretty thick carpet of small iron and been able to pick out a button among the nails? In other words, how well does it work at picking up good targets with a lot of small iron in, around, and above good targets?
