Equivalent of slow mode in F75?

The F70 has a slow mode and the de (default) mode. Besides the All Metal Stat mode, is there any way to set the F75 for a slower sweep speed, perhaps in discrimination (disc) ?

    F75 and fresh buried targets

I know that performance is never the same on a freshly buried target as it is on something that's been in the ground a while. But, shouldn't a 69 cal round ball register at 8" or a Gardner at 7", even if freshly buried for testing? I have moderate ground that registers at 57-58 and even my MXT...

    Depth readings on F75?

I took my recently arrived machine into the backyard and started digging some of the trash signals we have out back. Seems that the depth readings on this machine are off. Nails were reading at 5", but when I dug them up they were only about 3". I don't have any coins in the back yard, but foil...

    Deepest CW relic find?

As a relic hunter I'm always looking to get my hands on the deepest seeking machine I can. My reasoning has always been that the older machines (late 70s to early 90s) wouldn't have had the depth capability we have now so it should be possible to keep picking up finds in areas deemed hunted out...

    F70 Discrimination

Was out in the backyard playing/testing the F70 and I noticed that at times I would get a hit that wouldn't repeat. Is that because of discrimination that kicks in after the machine picks up the signal? I would sometimes experience that with my MXT and was wondering if its the same thing with...

Does anybody make a rain/moisture cover for the F70 housing?

    First impressions of Fisher F70

I just received my F70 yesterday and I don't know what all the fuss is about build quality. The only thing I saw that made me scratch my head, was the battery compartment and the fact that it has foam inserts in the bottom, designed to take up space and snug up the batteries. And, there is no...

    New F70 Impressions

I just received my F70 tonight and I don't know what all the fuss is about build quality. The only thing I saw that made me scratch my head, was the battery compartment and the fact that it has foam inserts in the bottom, designed to take up space and snug up the batteries. And, there is no...

    Frequency Changing and Hunting Together??

I noticed that the F70 has a frequency shifting option. Is the shift enough to enable two F70s to hunt together? Or, for an F70 and F75 to hunt in the same area?

    Friction Primers

Does anyone know approximately how long the twisted wire igniters were on friction primers? Also, does anyone have a photo of a spent one they can post? I'm trying to determine if the twisted wire pieces I found could have been from friction primers or if they were from screen door hardware.

    Relic Hunting Book ?

Does anyone know the title of a good book about relic hunting by a relic hunter that goes into the research and thinking he did and the field work? I'm not talking about the Crouch book either, while its a good read, to me it was more about the copious amounts of finds in the "Good Ole Days"...

Old County maps that show homesteads for Central TN & N Alabama

I ran across a site that has old topo maps that show homesite locations for the Eastern US, but it doesn't include states like Alabama or Tennessee. Also, I found a resource that you can look up the location of a homesite if you have a last name. But, I need late 1800s to early 1900s maps that...

Anybody have the ORs on CD?

Does anyone have a copy of the Official Records on CD that they would like to sell or know where I can buy one? I'm getting tired of doing the on-line search thing. Bill W.

    Hunting through birdshot

There's an area I know of that was used for years as a trapshooting area. Problem is, it was also the sight of some historical activity. Most people have avoided it because of the dense birdshot. Is it possible that the birdshot could be effectively notched out (on a machine equipped to notch)...

Pros and Cons of the Minelab Xterra 70?

Seems that this detector keeps coming up when I'm asking about machines with certain characteristics. Problem is, everbody is so reluctant to give a balanced review on machines. If you have some meaningful comments, please don't hesitate to PM me. I'm not a newby, been using a Whites MXT, but...

Can someone explain FastGrab on an F-75?

Does the machine only GB when the trigger is pulled or is it an auto tracking-like feature?

MXT vs. F-75 for Relic Hunting?

Has anyone ever compared the MXT to the F-75 for relic hunting? Or are there any former MXT owners that are now using an F-75, that could give me an honest comparison?
