  1. Garrett 12.5" Scorcher coil for GTI machines

Garrett 12.5" Scorcher coil for GTI machines

This is a lightly used non-imaging 12.5" coil for the Garrett GTI machines. It works well and covers a lot of ground. There's even a little "X" in a circle in the middle to remind you where the target is when you pinpoint. The bottom has a few marks but is clean otherwise. Asking $65 shipped in...

Teknetics T2 SE is it really as good as they say.

    Was this in all metal?

Teknetics T2 SE is it really as good as they say.

That's great to know. I'm used to carrying over boost to all metal mode, but I'll have to try cache if it's good on smaller objects, too.

Teknetics T2 SE is it really as good as they say.

Interesting results. Which program were you using on the D2? And what kind of targets did you use?

Video I watched last night with Steve Moore

Yeah, Garrett will need to offer a substantial additional upgrade option for the VX machines to compete with any of those, especially the Manticore and D2. Again, seems like an obvious next step given the groundwork they're laying. But, then, Garrett has made some choices lately that have left...

Video I watched last night with Steve Moore

In hindsight, seems that Steve was teasing the additional features that Garrett announced for the Vortex yesterday. I wish they had asked more about the "platform" that Garrett has developed for this new machine. Steve said himself that many (most?) people are going straight for the VX9 and...

    F75+

I was also not happy with the build quality the first times I used a T2 and an F75. The pistol grip and trigger for GB/pinpointing is nice. If only the handle and shaft were more stable, it would be one of the best shaft constructions out there.

    TX-850

I bought one earlier this year when they were on sale for $70. I've since been out with it just a couple of times, so take all this with a grain of salt: The good: It does hunt and find stuff. It seems to work like a genuine G2. It took me a minute to get used to the VCO tone, but once you get...

Teknetics T2 SE is it really as good as they say.

My main detector is a Deus 2. But last year, I won a T2 Classic in a contest at Digstock. As I looked around for tips and tricks, I found an old Aquachigger video that shows you how to set up the T2 in all metal mode on relic sites. I decided to experiment a bit with all metal mode, but I wasn't...

    Vortex Bang for Buck

And the fact that Garret bought White's IP makes this even more bizarre. They could've put a DFX/XLT/etc-style readout on the VX machines!

    Vortex Bang for Buck

I'm getting White's vibes from those target readouts!

    Vortex Bang for Buck

Where did you get this idea? The Vortex doesn't have anything like the 2D screen on the Manticore. The 2D screen shows a lot more detailed information than the Vortex's three bars.

    Vortex Bang for Buck

On paper, the Vortex has fewer features than similarly priced detectors. That doesn't mean it will be a bad machine, but seems like a bit of stretch that it will be exactly equivalent to the Legend and the Nox machines. I'm sure we'll get plenty of head-to-head tests with those machines as the...

Leaning heavily to a Deus 2.. and have a cool question..,

I've just used the 9" and 13"x11" and love both. The 9" is plenty deep and allows for good separation when needed. The 13"x11" comes in handy mostly for the additional coverage when you're searching a field or other open area that doesn't have a ton of trash.

Deal on new CZ3Ds from First Texas

I got this email from First Texas today. Seems they're trying to clear out some new old stock of CZ3Ds in the latest part of their fire sale. I'm curious, is there a market for these, especially new from the factory?

So Garrett finally released a new line of detectors to get in the competition so where are the new higher tech Fishers?

Like Garrett, they haven't come out with much new lately, especially at the middle and top of the line. That said, I would love to see an updated F75 -- or, better yet, a multi-frequency T2, though still with its all metal mode as an option.

XP offer: "Upgrade" your Deus/ORX to a D2?

I agree, I was a little disappointed. I still have my Deus 1. I read the teaser they posted on Instagram last week as: You'll be able to trade in your Deus 1/ORX for a D2 at a special price. (I already have a D2, so not saying that would've been a no-brainer for me, but it would've been more...

XP offer: "Upgrade" your Deus/ORX to a D2?

Did anyone else catch XP's "upgrade" promotion? They're offering a D2 coil, WS6 headphones, and mount to use the headphone puck as the master (no shaft) for $589. It's being marketed as an "upgrade" kit since you can add those components to your existing ORX or Deus I shaft. Anyone think this...

    Deus 2 HF Coils

Was that based on the XP video with Merrill? I believe he said that XP had heard the demands for HF coils for the D2 and the fact that such coils still only exist just for the original Deus would be "temporary." Personally, I don't need anything above 40khz, tho I'd consider an elliptical coil...
