    A good mornings hunt in Iowa

    Went to the local beach early this morning. One gold ring is a good hunt. But I was in line to find three. Big one is 6.6 DWT. All are 14K. HH

    Heres a favorite pic of mine I took in illinois last summer.

    AH summertime!! I had a great two day trip to this campground. Found one gold ring, some silver, and what I've had described as a small spearpoint or throwing stick type arrowhead. AH, summertime!!!:detecting:

    The wife and I are looking very hard at a move south sometime in the next year or so......

    No place definite in mind. We can't afford the ridiculous prices in Florida.:cry: But, we are looking hard at the southernmost states bordering Florida. I want to be within a long days drive of SOBE, if thats any indication.:cool: More to come.

    Any idea how old this "dancing" black man" is? Found in the Iowa river several years ago.

    The body was badly shriveled (wooden) so I rough carved a similar shape, and installed the arms and legs to it. The limbs are solid cast, not like the cheap copies today. I estimate it may have lain in the river for 50-75 years. I found it in a spot where people used to dump along the river edge...
