    My latest repair on my hypochondriac Excalibur, (theres a surprise)

    Better picture of my ring and arrowhead finds.

    Okay, its time to test my Excal repair. Shutting down after posting this message, and....

    Taking the excal with repaired coil into the briny deep. Also taking a tank of air along. I'll dive with the CZ-20, maybe pick up something the "hole blaster" missed, out on the fringes. Will post in a few hours. :detecting:

    Update on Excal coil repair.......................................

    Success!!!!! The coil is back in action, the threshhold is once more stable, and sounding like its own self. I took it out in the yard and checked three coins scattered on the ground, it detected, located, held tone, then switched tone smoothly between pennies and nickels. I question if it has...

    Update on the excal coil repair effort......

    I'm applying multiple layers of epoxy to the coil joints and top surface. preliminary power ups and ring tests are showing a good return to the threshhold stability of old. hopefully, I had only a crack to be concerned with, and not actual corrosion or damage that is concealed. I'll have it done...

    Anyone know what this is?

    Found this in a swimming beach bottom. The piece has a sort of belt buckle on one side. I thought maybe part of a miners lamp or something, but don't have a clue. The printing on it says "you must keep this surface bright"
