heres my main assault weapon for Virginia Beach next month!!

The Excal gets mighty heavy after about an hour. I rigged my unit to hang in front of me. I have it on an E-Z swing harness. The belt not only holds the unit stable, but the ends of the vecro belt go through the nylon cord loops on each end of the controls. this keeps the apparatus from swinging...

AARGH, me crew holds the loot from todays beach raid!!

Twas a good morning at the local beach, heavily hit by pirates on a daily raid basis. I got a silver earring, silver chain with cross, and a armitron watch still working. Plus $1.01 in change. Not a fortune, but it was fun. The whole ear of corn as we say out here, Max. 25 days and counting...

Went hunting this morning, usual coins and junk. BUT, hit "gold" on the way home!!!

I stopped at a couple garage sales close to home. look what i picked up for two bucks!!! Neat little rock tumbler, perfect for doing a handful of stuff at a time. I won't have to listen to "washing machine Charlie", my old Thumbler tumbler all the time. What a great deal!!

Biggest dang earring I ever found!!

Found this on my walk today. I was going past a bar near here, and saw something shining near the back. I found this monster on the ground in the parking lot. makes me wonder what a stroll through the "watering hole" might yield! oh, if only it were gold. Golf ball is to show size of this "ear...

Pirate carving to commemorate upcoming Virginia Beach trip....

I started whittling this little peg leg guy a couple of days ago. I was thinking about getting together with the pirates over in Virginia Beach, one thing led to another. He needs finishing, including a cutlass, some gold, a little sanding, and a suitable set of pirate togs.

Slow morning at the beach?? This will perk you up when you get home.

Nothing like bacon and eggs and a cup of Joe to bring you back. Can't post another picture of it, it's GONE!!!!! MMMMM!!

Nothing in the water, everything found on volleyball sand.

I got skunked this morning. I didn't find anything in the water, well, one Bud lite can some jerk threw in. Went up to the volley ball nets, found the 925 silver girls band, and the change. the bead thing is off some sort of necklace. I find one of them once in a while. Still NO GOLD.

Forgot the watch I pulled up last nite.

Here's a basic watch I got out of a lake beach last nite. Not a Timex, but it took the licking, and it's still ticking. It'll be my new water watch, since my Timex has a leather type band that doesn't take water as well as this cheap plastic one does. Love to recycle!!

Morning hunt results in 26 cents, and confrontation with a brute!!

This isn't the first time I've dealt with this bunch. They think they own the lake! I actually stopped on my way out to do this guy a favor, and all he could do was snap at me, and act aggressive! Yessiree, there ain't nothing meaner than a 15 pound snapping turtle who don't want to get out of...

Max, heres my entry in the modifications. My Sov Elite ready for water hunting.

I got a straight rod for it about two years ago. before i even bought the detector. Discovered there were no headphones, so I ordered some waterproof Grey Ghosts. Everything is assembled into a waterproof case. The rolled up socks are just the right bulk to hold the control box stable and...

I mentioned "grid hunting' to BDA in a post below. But i actually seldom do that, how do YOU (yes, You) hunt in the water???

I walk back and forth parallel to the beach, using the depth as a gauge to stay fairly straight. I do think if I ever found a really productive area (HA!!), that I would work a tight grid then.

Todays loot, and ATTACKED by me own scurvy crew. AARGH!!!

Went to the local beach this morning, having recovered from my bout of "oldmanitis" of yesterday. Found two silver, one trash, and the usual small change and trash. Then while photographing the loot, I was treacherously attacked by me first mate, Dusty the terror. She has a thing for toes and...

I'm OLD!!! I punked out on going hunting this morning........

I got up at 03:40 A.M. yesterday. I hunted for a couple of hours, then when I went home, I wiped out for half the day. I got my gear ready to go for another early morning hunt, then, realized I would be running the risk of falling asleep at the wheel afterward if I did. So, voiced my concerns to...
