    Back from my western swing of Iowa, AKA "the big swamp"........

    Holy cow! Water water eveywhere. One beach I wanted to check out was so flooded, I couldn't even get into the state park. I did get one good beach to hunt, found a 1935 quarter, and a bunch of change, . Nothing fantastic, but I did see a derailed train, saw a bald eagle flying sideways in gusty...

    I'm outa here for a couple days, western Iowa swing, hope this is a sign of good luck..........

    I went over to the Quik Stop to get some ice. Bought some of those pulltab tickets. Thought I had $4.00, the girl rang up $53.00!! I had a FIFTY DOLLAR winner!!!!:clapping: Now, hope some of that luck lasts me the next couple days out in the lakes!! Later. HH:detecting:

    A thought on all that "junk" we find.....

    The other day I was cleaning up (ha) my shop. I found a container with pieces of scrap copper. I took it in and sold it for over a hundred dollars. Okay, just last week, I found a bunch of yellow brass I'd been hanging on to. there was 125# total in the brass. I took that in and received $187.50...

    Biggest danged dime I ever found!!

    Went down to a small campground beach today. I got some junk rings, a VW (new style), and this huge green plastic roosevelt dime. The dime came up in the scoop with another target. Got $1.71 total for my labors. Oh well, throw it in the "go to Virginia Beach" fund jar.:thumbup:

    I announced my pending trip to SOBE yesterday, got packed, etc. Then, just didn't feel the oomph to go, its 1600 miles, and I'd be driving it alone.     Arrival date now July 23. Confirmed! I'll be staying at.....
