How to EASILY Remove the D2 Coil Cover

Guess this ex-drummer is gonna start carrying around a couple of guitar picks from now on. Thanks for the short, yet sweet video. DJH

    D2, Cover coil.

I had the same problem as you and did not feel comfortable about whacking the bottom of the coil and damaging it. Here is the link to what I ended up doing. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?66,1293186,1293186#msg-1293186 Be carefull when using the screwdrivers, as you only want to get them...

One person's struggle to program the v3i

Been there and still going through the hoops from time to time, but it gets easier the more I go through the menus. Checkout Carl's Shortcuts towards the top of the V3i forum and you will see How to fast-set tones That will make it easier to assign tones to multiple numbers without have to do...

Yep, those truck beds are quite the catchall, aren't they? :bouncy:

Ok. I have a question about this new machine......

I'll fess up and be the first to answer. Yes, I do end up digging some junk. If it sounds good it's diggable and I'm still learning this machine, but things are starting to come around and fall into place. Here's a couple of recent finds pics from this past month that shows what I did dig at 2...

    Pin pointing without Audio

Hi Rob, Am I understanding that the problem that Magic is having is with the V3i and not the V? Being a new owner to the V3i I am not quick to jump on the band wagon about problems, being that I am still what I would consider to be in the learning phase, but I have on occassion noticed a...

    Delayed VDI tone response question

Modulation as ON appears to have been the culprit, so I went through some of my other loaded programs and made sure to turn it off on them as well. Ran it all day on Sunday and didn't get 1 delayed signal like I was experiencing. Thanks again for the insight on that DJH

Is there a Low Battery Alarm?

Thanks Rob for the info. Couldn't remember if the V3i had the alarm or if it was my previous detector that I had. Guess I'll make a change to the status line. HH DJH

Is there a Low Battery Alarm?

Twice I punked with the V3i powering down on me because I had not taken notice to my low battery level. One of those times was a good long walk back to the car to retrieve the extra battery pack. (make note to carry extra battery pack in pouch from now on) Any ways, is there a low battery alarm...

    Delayed VDI tone response question

Thanks Rob, I took a look and Modulation was checked as ON. I will give it a try and see if that is what I was experiencing and report whether that was the culprit or not. DJH

Thanks Rob for the info. I'll look into that and see if that is the cure. Will respond either way to let you know how I come out. Thanks again guys DJH

    Delayed VDI tone response question

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but where would I look within the settings to see about the modulation? Thanks for the responses Larry, Rob, and CVS.

    Delayed VDI tone response question

I'll look into that setting and see what it is set at. Thanks for the input. DJH

    Delayed VDI tone response question

Running RD anywhere from 45-60. When I first got the V3i, I had 2 coins laid out on the fround at nearly 1 1/2 - 2 feet apart and noticed that I could hit both targets going from right to left, but on the return I could hit only one of them. I realized that the RD needed to be adjusted then and...

    Delayed VDI tone response question

I have noticed every now and then that when I receive a high VDI tone I will sometimes get a delayed tone of the same but yet maybe a 1/3 less in volume. This doesn't happen often, just once in a great while. I have never been able to get it to repeat that when it happens as far as the softer...

Are you passing those shallow targets up?

Thanks, As for digging all coin targets, I agree, but when you get those iffy's that bounce around and won't settle in, you should consider taking your best shot at what you hear and what you see in reference to VDI's As for the old shallow finds, those just blow me away. My oldest is an 1877...

Are you passing those shallow targets up?

Got out Wednesday for a little bit of hunting at the local city park and got one of those iffy signals that was throwing the dime VDI into the mix. Being that I hadn't really dug much, I thought that I would give this plug a shot and at least add to the coin jar. 1919 Merc, 1930 and 1941 Wheat...

    ID Please

At first I thought it was a ram rod attachment, but those that I have seen have an external thread. What is the diameter of the largest dimension? DJH
