Girding for a meteoric rise in popularity

This was from that brilliant meteorite that fall a few weeks ago or so. One guy had one that was over 26 lbs. Wait till these people find out there are worth $$. The owners on where those pieces fell will be tracking back their offers to have people take the things off their property...

I just got my Infinium in. :spin:

KellyCo has a real fast delivery service. It was at my PO box Monday and I ordered it Friday morning and UPS Ground Service doesn't deliver on Sat unless you pay extra for it. The funny thing is when I got in my car I getting ready to workout but after that package I am not. Then I saw that it...

How many MD manics went out in today's weather in the NE area?

I did, heehe. I forgot that the snow did melt a little and then we had a deep freeze last night which continued right on into when I started MD at 1pm. I finished at 3:30pm, picked up 39 cents in clad, a junk bracelet and a blank ID tag? I hunted around some pine trees as the needles kept the...

Guess what SLQ I found? :super:

I got in about a little over an hour's worth of swinging today (Sat.). Temperature was around 36 degrees. It was a sunny day for the most part. I went up the hill a little where I have found the WL & Kennedy (Erik,I feel your pain, heehee) and a few old wheaties. I did that for about 30...

Why has there never been a documentary done on MD??

This thought just came to my mind. WHY!!?? You see people with their noses to the window instead of the road as hey are driving or they are asking you questions. I think if someone had the vid cam and a decent outline for a format he could make a good film that would really interest people or at...

Has anyone ever done this before?

Here I was today near the end of my 5 hour hunt I look at the auto sensitivity and it's off and I am running it like at 27. No wonder I am getting new tones every 2-3 X's per second. I must have hit it by accident when I was adjusting the auto sense. This actually turned out to be a good thing...

Why do you like to MD?

This may seem like a simple question but with everyone of us here being unique and having different circumstances in life the answers will be varied but at some point will mesh into a common denominator. My wife left me 2.5 years ago and she took my 5 year old son who I dearly loved. When I was...

It wasn't glory but at least I was out.

I went out today for about 3 hours. It was supposed to rain and it was spitting a little when I left but then the clouds broke and the sun came out. A beautiful day to swing the halo. I got about 4

What's the rule of thumb with coil size and accurate depth gauge assessment?

I remember briefly seeing someone mention something but I don't remember what the rule was? Like what happens if I get a 15x12 coil and how will 6" register on the depth gauge as opposed to the default 10" coil? same scenario with a 6" coil?

My first Merc & 3 wheaties

Got out for a few hours today. I decided to do around some trees near the road and there is where I found the wheaties. Their in the 1930's range. In fact one of the wheatie was a 3-4 inches over a can so I scalped it out really good with the tone. Then I decided I was going to work the hills a...

Anybody who finds this one will make some $$

If there is anything left! I posted this because in a thread I posted a while ago I asked how you could identify a meteorite. http://www.yahoo.com/s/991579

How does a coin get there?

I understand how objects lost on the beach get immersed in the sand and get driven deeper in it but how is this process illustrated when on land? I have been thinking about this for a while and then a non MD asked me and and he has a 42' yacht so he understands about stuff being lost and...

Which is better for general MD -- 12x10 or 15x12 ?

I am in the process of getting a better coil for my SE. I know the 12x10 is a winner but why not go to the 15x12 and get a little more depth and coverage for $20 more? I know the 15x12 weighs more than the 12x10 but what concerns me is the 15x12 sensitivity to smaller objects at shallow ranges...

That's the best deal out there that I can recall. I can't wait to use this baby. I have been using the AutoMax which...
