    :canadaflag:quota pin has arrived

Too sore to detect today so I went and visited my father for a coffee. After chewing the fat for a tad he handed me my new card for a seniors group I belong to which dad is also a member. Then he gave me this..."A fitting pin indeed, "The Quota Plus Pin." In all honesty the name of the...

    :canadaflag:Detecting with a screw loose

Still recovering from yesterdays field romp with Navy Davy. Of course the darts banquet last night didn't help. Was not feeling up to par with cramps in the extremities. Every time I got a cramp in a limb.....went to the bar. Was hoping I would turn into an octopus! Mind you it was a cheap...

:canadaflag:ND 1914 silver and Bluenoser 5 large coppers

Navy Davy and I got an early start on the field. His hit for the day was a nice 1914 dime while I managed 5 large coppers. Two appear to be circa 1840 Nova Scotia Thistle tokens, one a 1898 large cent and the remaining too toasty to identify. Not sure what the nob dewy is.

    :canadaflag:heart into the hunt today

By midday all was well and I decided to take my Freedom 3 Plus out for a walk. No farmer's field today for this bouy lugging the Pro. Picked up Nogo Sojo at the automotive shop as he was getting a new set of rubbers. With the demise of Wreck Havoc Nogo has to be kept up to speed. Dropped...

:canadaflag:1905 silver and fully intact crotal bell

Navy Davy and I took Mike from the Canadian Detecting Forum out to one of my permissions on a day that had blistering high winds. The drive there was like going on a circus ride as we were blown all over the road. Sort of meandering like a drunken sailor. The field was exposed completely to...

    :canadaflag:almost penniless

Was excited to get back to the cruise lines job. However the first day was a 10 hour shift that rained the whole time which didn't damper the joy of seeing and talking to my coworkers. The Artanian was in carrying 1200 passenger. Took the opportunity to brush up on a little German.....he...

:canadaflag:1st dig since coming home nets silver spoon

First target of the day was a spoon which I thought at the time was junk till I got home and noticed the hallmark. Taking photos not my forte but it is a lion facing left with it's tail up. Rounded out the day with a 1915 large cent. Nice to be home swinging with my bud..."The Other Old Timer."

:canadaflag:Peso Pirate of Peurto Plata Plunders

This was our 9th trip to the Dominican republic and all with Air Transit. Mind you when they say bargain basement packaged tours they are the basement. Flight was 4o minutes late taking off, no meals served on the route (did get a cup of coffee) and really bad movies in flight both ways. No...

    :canadaflag:Digaholic's Lament 1884

optional soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqHRjz6s91I It was there! The urge to go digging. Hunny Bunny grabbed the car keys as my heart sank. Heard Nogo Sojo putter out of the driveway. The day got darker, I more morose. Thought I would earn some brownie points by doing the wash...

    :canadaflag:1803 half real

Having been up already for four and a half hours the phone rang at 0830hrs. "What do you think?" "Well it rained all day yesterday, I'm sore tired and cranky.......why not." Twenty moments later we were fueled with java and on the road. Navy Davy and I decided to go after some relics and older...
