    Analyze continues to amaze me

So are you saying the the smoothness of the graphs indicated that it's a good target? Thanks, Erik

    one of yours over here

Hi, It was minted in 2000 that quarter. They decided to come out with a set of quarters where the reverse represented 1 of 50 American states. I think they were minted in the order that the states became states and there were only about 10 states done per year. It was a very popular set with...

Help Me Design a Test Garden!

Hi, After ten years of detecting and resisting the need to make a test garden, the prior thread on Semi-Auto vs. Manual sensitivty has convinced me that it might be a valuabl asset especially when testing various settings on a single machine or comparing multiple machines. I stopped by a small...

    Pulltabs

Any ideas on why we still have such a hard time telling gold from aluminum in the ground - such very different metals - surely there must be some sort of signature that gets transmitted from the induced signal. Have you guys tried any heavy duty DSP algos that might detect a difference?

    Pulltabs

Yes, I realize that from the Minelab (why the heck can't they build a machine yet that can tell the difference between aluminum and gold in the ground anyway), butI would at least want to be able to tell the difference between a nickeland a pull tab.

    Pulltabs

Can someone post a graph of a nickel and a graph of a typical pull tab.....pull tabs can be all shapes and sizes and bent etc.....what type of "signature" are you looking for with a pull tab?

    Bug Spray on my screen!

John's right in that if it's etched Un-Du won't do anything. But if you want to read about the product: www.un-du.com It's really great stuff!

    Bug Spray on my screen!

Un-Du is a totally different animal than Goof-Off.....Goof-Off is junk as far as I'm concerned and it leaves a residue behind. Un-Du is amazingly gentle on substrates, yet very effective at removing all sorts of adhesive and I believe that it leaves no residue. It's so gentle that you can use...

New Whites V3 - Test Drive - V3 Story Booklet

That's a heck of a lot of quarters! Nice job and congrats on the MVC!

    Bug Spray on my screen!

Like I said a true adhesive remover will probably cut through the bug spray easily. The Un-Du is strong, yet gentle (kinda like me ) the owner of the co does a demo where he removes a piece of toilet paper stuck to duct tape. I love the stuff. I'd try it before peeling off the screen...

    Bug Spray on my screen!

They make some protectors that you can cut to fit the V3.....I don't know why they just don't sell a 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of the stuff. Someone needs to send them a V3 to make a template, but I think they will do it. They should advertise here to help the site....the owner rightly so doesn't want...

    Bug Spray on my screen!

You might want to try wiping the screen with a product called Un-Du....it's a wonderful adhesive remover and very gentle. Then I'd consider protecting the scree with the product that we're really not allowed to talk about here, but it starts with a Z and ends with an AGG

Spectra V3 Microprocessor Sales to US Blocked by ITC Order?

Andy, You might reconsider posting after you've been drinking! :yikes: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?! I have no desire or intent to continue this here...take it off-line if you feel you need to make a personal attack!

Spectra V3 Microprocessor Sales to US Blocked by ITC Order?

I didn't start a rumor, I just simply asked a question based on fact. Regarding the second part of your post - no matter how good a company is, some things are out of their control. Like I said I am buying a V3 so I think I have a right to ask a question regarding public information on a...

Spectra V3 Microprocessor Sales to US Blocked by ITC Order?

My only concern was that if White's were forced to change processors, if I buy a V3 now, I would want to ensure that my unit were upgraded to the standard processor later. I guess I was also naturally curious whether this would have an immediate impact on production, but I think you answered...

Spectra V3 Microprocessor Sales to US Blocked by ITC Order?

 No, not a faster swing speed, but the DSP algorithms eat up a lot of horsepower and we're just scratching the surface of what can be done - more speed = the ability to add more advanced algos. Even on the Explorer - the cursor in SmartFind is really not as snappy as it should be - I'd...

Spectra V3 Microprocessor Sales to US Blocked by ITC Order?

Jule, The ability to replace a processor in a metal detector would be very cool, though I doubt we'll see that for a while. I'm not really up on RISC processors so I'm not sure how well established the lineages are or if they keep coming out with faster and faster clock speeds. Maybe we'll...
