    Fantastic end to 2024

In 20 years of detecting, I've never hunted a site as rich in treasures as this area.

    Fantastic end to 2024

Yeah, not a lot of people know about the history of this area. It is a vast wooded park about 4 miles by 1 mile. You could wonder around for years and never know anything was ever there.

    Fantastic end to 2024

I knew of a hotel, bar, dance platform, and clam bakes that once existed deep in the woods of this county park. It took me loads of research to find out more information about all of this. The hotel and the other structures were built in 1875 and was in business until 1940. Clam bakes every...

    Silver everyday for 5 days

I previously posted my two half dollar finds. Here are the other finds in this wooded park. 5 days, silvers every day. Been detecting for 20 years. Never have I found so many silvers and other key finds in such a short amount of time. Included in the pics is a 1928 NYS dog tag. Two flat buttons...

    Two days two silver halfs

Yeah, we'd all like to know why it was buried. Maybe a few people were in a hunting party and they spent the night. A guy stole the half and buried it and then forgot where he buried when he came for it a few days later. A half dollar was a lot of money back then. It could feed a whole family...

    Two days two silver halfs

Sunday, 1940 half dollar. Monday, 1897 half dollar. Tuesday, 1917 Rosie, Sterling silver religious pendant. These are only a few of my finds. This park has been VERY good to me. But finding two silver halves on two consecutive days is almost unheard of. The 1897 half was not dropped, it was...

    Well. I finally did it!!!

Equinox 800, all metal mode, FE on 6, max sensitivity. The signal was huge and steady. Like swinging over a beer can. It was about 5 or 6 inches deep.

    Well. I finally did it!!!

was about 6 inches deep and 3 feet from a road that was a major east west road and trading posts back in the 1800's. It was also known as the Honey Moon trail because newly Weds would take it to Niagara Falls by carriage.

    Well. I finally did it!!!

People come up to me and ask me what I've found over the years. My usual response is: "Well, I haven't found a gold coin or a silver dollar." Well, as of yesterday, I can cut that statement in half. I found an 1880 silver dollar. After 20 years of detecting, I finally found one. My knees...

Find of the year or find of a lifetime 1809 half cent

Ok everyone. It has been determined on another forum that this is actually a V nickle and not a half cent. My coin fame has been shattered.😔
