    Relic Hunt Preparation

Ive got a very old site with tons of iron, and I plan on excavating it down aways with the LTD SE and I got this N45 rare earth super magnet to help in the removal of all the nasty iron. It is EXTREMELY STRONG. You must use EXTREME CAUTION when using these powerful rare earth magnets. HH! Aaron

V3i Finds What Other Detectors Missed!

Hey Neil, thats alot of nice LOOT! That looks like a real old flat button on the top of the first pic, could be pre 1830's??? I just found my oldest Buffalo last week (1913), only it was in the water w my Excal over a foot deep in a heavily hunted area.

    Concentric coils:confused:

SE Mi Ive been using it lately because I wanted to compare it to the D2 with regards to noise. It is quieter, and depth is real good too, however the separation isnt as good as the D2. Dont underestimate the power of a concentric coil, it may perform better in higher EMI areas too.

    Old big flat button...

I just found this old brass flat button at a really old site, not very pretty, but it still has the shank with a wreath around it and a eagle at the top. Just wondering how old it may be. The site go's back to the 1850's. Thanks, Aaron

    Nickels at 27 VDI??

That's really odd...almost always id 19 for me, as for war nickels I haven't found any recently with the V to say. The highest I've ever had a nickel come in was 22-23, and that was maybe twice. What coil you using?

    kellyco coils

Thats probably the case with the 10x12 SEF, however its not with my 4x7 SEF no matter how much you adjust the gain. I had bought it over a year and a half ago from Kellyco and it worked great, and never tried boost on it until I switched to a bigger coil and had put the boost on then later on...

    kellyco coils

The SEF coils are good coils...however, one important thing they do not tell about their coils is you CANNOT use BOOST with them. If you do you will get a constant overload. I learned this the hard way.

    V3i and CZ

Those of us that have been putting in the time on the V3 know that it is possible to tell the difference between aluminum and gold in SOME cases. I know this is a definate fact in the small gold ring range (the most common gold ring lost) especially around the nickel. Those of you who dont know...

I also I have the 950 concentric, Im gonna try to use it instead of my DD for awhile and see how it...

When will it be out !!!!! "NEW VX3"

No-Thanks! I will be sticking with my V3i..I love all the extras, learning/trying new stuff. This detector is way ahead of its time and years from now will be remembered as the Teknetics Mark I of its day.
