    I stand corrected. Just put it on the charger, and with the lights on and wearing my reading glasses, I CAN see the icon. Never would have noticed it but for the good advice of those here.

    I am also running 1.11, but no charging icon on the black screen.

    On mine, when it is plugged into the charger, the screen comes on when plugged in, but then almost immediately goes off. If I want to check the charging progress, I have to turn the detector on in order to see the screen and charging status.

    Yeah, I have the external battery pack attached so I don't really worry about running out. But it would be nice to have some sort of alarm or light or something when it's fully charged.
