Question on the Xp ORX coils

I don't think the old low frequency coils will work with the Orc. The latest XP update for the Deus allows it to use the Orx headphones but stops it from using the older coils. The X35s and the HF coils all work though. I don't know why, when someone asks a specific question, people answer...

    VDI Question

Put two targets close to each other and sweep over them. Would 10x as many numbers give me more resolution? I once dug a deep pull tab with my T2 that gave quarter numbers. Would twice as many VIDs have helped there? Sometimes deep coins give iron numbers. Would a machine with 500 VID...

    G2+ finds 12-28-23

It always amazes me how ornate some of the most mundane finds from long ago are. We can't afford to make them like that anymore.

    screen covers for legand.

The nano glass is the only screen covering that has been acceptable to me. It looks like it is not there, it doesn't scratch, doesn't get cloudy, fits perfectly, doesn't interfere with anything. I wish they made them for all my screen detectors. It is the only one I would recommend.

    What's it?

Maybe an old window counterweight or weight from a grandfather clock?

Well fellas here's the update on the mystery coin from OBX.........

The owner of the trucking company I worked for for years until he died carried a silver dollar in his pocket for good luck. It was worn smooth.

    storage

My poor little 2001 Ford Ranger has survived 22 years outside in SE Colorado in temperatures from -15 to 113 degrees. Everything still works like a champ except the mechanical part that changes CDs in the radio. It usually has one detector or another residing inside and they all still work...

    Lithium batteries

Here's a post and warning on these batteries. The last few posts say the electronics in the batteries can cause interference with some detectors. https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/23355-need-some-help-with-batteries/

What's difference CORS VS. NEL COILS

Nel coils are available on the big auction site. The prices are mostly exorbitant. I'm glad I bought mine before the prices went skyrocketing.

    Lithium batteries

From electronics.stackexchange.com: -2 The new lithium poly batteries are GREAT. You can get them in AAA, AA. C, D all at 1.5/1.6V and the PP3 at 9V. Using a 5v source (USB) to charge a 3.7v battery inside and then using either buck or boost converter to produce the 1.5V/9V up to a specified...

    Lithium batteries

A chip in the lithium batteries can give a different output than 3 to 4 volts. It is not hard to do. They charge on USB ports at 5v, not regular AA or AAA chargers. It is similar to the Whites TRX that can use 9v batteries or two AA ones. You are welcome.

    Lithium batteries

I have had good luck with EBL and Maximal Power Lithium 9v batteries. They all still charge. The Maximals are over 10 years old now. They got hard to find so I bought the EBL ones and have no problems whatsoever. I've never used AA lithium rechargeable ones but have had good luck with...

Should I switch to a Accupoint pinpointer?

My hearing is bad but I can feel vibration just fine plus it is not as noticeable to all creatures, great and small.

What software is on new unit being shipped currently?

I'm pretty sure the ones shipped out from Nokta are the latest but the one you receive from distributors and dealers might not be. 1.09 was out when I purchased mine from a dealer but it was version 1.07. The dealer had no idea since it was drop shipped.

Can Garrett Detectors even COMPETE with the Latest & Greatest?????

Garrett ATX is so old school, right? Not knocking their products but they are not up to par? I would consider that knocking. Here's what Steve Herschbach says about it: "Honest opinions well stated don't need to stir a hornet's nest. It is the various side commentary where things tend to go...
