    Charging

    That's strange. The light comes on at first on mine too but when it goes dark a small battery icon turns on in the top left corner of the screen that stays on until I unplug the charge cord. I have version 1.11.

    There are a lot of great machines that "got left behind" in the minds of many. The mindset seems to be that newer is always better. I tend to disagree.

    Charging

    You don't have to turn it on if the charge cord is attached. The icon in the upper left corner quits flashing from empty to full and becomes solid. If the cord is disconnected, then you have to turn it on to check just like most other detectors.

    I found out why my Nokta Legend broke

    Why did you open it up and void the warranty? Did you notify Nokta before you disassembled the detector and posted on this forum? You did wear a static bracelet when you touched the board, right? Static electricity from a person's hand can destroy electronics without this protection.

    Vista X Batteries

    There is a thread on FMD forum titled "1.5v Rechargeable AA Batteries" that has some information on the subject. It also shows the results of Monte Berry's battery test. Also Miliwatt hours is milliamp hours times voltage. 1000mAh at 1.5 volts is 1500mWh. 1000mAh at 9V is 9000mWh.

    Something different

    Cleaning the pins and sockets can sometimes make a big difference, especially when corrosion is finally visible. A product like Deoxit D5 makes the job pretty easy.

    It could have been bent by different circumstances, ran over, stepped on, involved in an explosion, etc.

    Sorry they didn't work for you. I put mine on when it was brand new, no bubbles or anything like that. It is still in place and no scratches on the screen. I would call the manufacturer and tell them your results.
