    Detector storage

I found a picture taken prior to putting the rack to use.

Never listen to the other guys opinion…..

I love "hunted out" areas. About 6 weeks ago I got the opportunity to hunt a relative's (wife's side) property. I was told that it would be a waste of my time since it had been hunted hard over the years and there isn't anything left. It isn't a large yard, and I still haven't hunted all of...

    Detector storage

I made what is essentially a gun rack. It holds 5 machines and has a base for batteries, pinpointers, etc.. The rack is wall-mounted. The metal detectors are stored horizontally. On the inside of the outer boards (on the rack) I use velcro patches to hold the headphones (the container - which...

    Hello from Bodrum

Welcome from NJ, USA. With the history of your area I can't begin to imagine how exciting the finds could be.

    Legend and pulsedive...

It will not. The new protocol for the Legend is bluetooth (low latency). NM is working on a pinpointer that will be bluetooth capable.

    The Legend is here!

I did own/use the V3i and must agree. I found it to be superior (my use, my soil conditions) to the Etrac and the CTX 3030. (I've never used an Equinox, but do own a Vanquish and I find the Apex to be a better machine than the Vanquish). To some degree I kind of wish I had not sold the V3i.

    The Legend is here!

My guess is that Minelab has an oscilloscope. Minelab also has a marketing team that writes copy in a manner that could be taken to mean something that isn't actually said, or true. There are multiple threads (on the subject of how many frequencies is the Equinox running at the same time) on...

    Detector wars??

I think it is a safe bet that ML is working on a replacement for the CTX 3030 (and likely an addition to the Nox line) but I kind of doubt either will be released in 2022. Garrett has all but said they're working on a more premium smf detector. I'd be surprised if it is released in 2022...

    The Legend's Tone sample.

Dilek also said that NM will provide additional (numbers of) tones if the customers want that. I took her statement to mean those tone additions would be added via updates.

    The Legend is here!

Two reasons mainly... 1. Tests have proven so. On another forum (DP) look for posts by Carl Moreland (engineer at First Texas) where quite a bit of discussion (on that topic) took place. Carl also has information on his own website (Geotech forums - or something along those lines) 2. Minelab...

    The Legend is here!

That question (number of frequencies used while in smf) was one that I had submitted. I assumed Dilek wouldn't directly answer that since neither ML or Garrett will give a direct answer to the same question. For some reason the manufacturers seem to think the answer, if openly provided, would...

To dig iron or not is the question.

I find digging iron to be tedious so I do so in bits. When I'm bored with digging iron (targets I'm sure aren't good) I start cherry picking. But that's only on those permissions where I hunt over and over again. I do tend to dig a lot of questionable targets though - since I mostly hunt where...

    The Legend is here!

Dilek said the Legend will start shipping in December, but didn't give a specific date.

    The Legend is here!

Pro package comes with an additional coil (6 inch) and outer battery. Not sure what else it comes with as the feed went in/out at that point. Both packages come with 11 inch coil and bluetooth headphones.

    The Legend is here!

USA price thought to be around $645 for the entry package, and $765 for the pro package. Those are not the msrp prices (which are higher).

    Keeping my XP Deus

I'll keep my Deus too. It's a fantastic machine for the type of hunting that I (mostly) engage in.

What are your beliefs about metal detector? Old Tech VS New?

In my own case I agree completely - I didn't put in the required work to truly learn the CTX 3030. I just did not like that machine. It wasn't that it was too complex - I absolutely loved my V3i (many hated it because it was complex). I likewise agree with your comment about not finding a 10...

What are your beliefs about metal detector? Old Tech VS New?

I don't disagree with your thoughts. I think it is clear that the newer technology metal detectors offer a significant performance leap over the old technology machines. I also think that the newer machines (in general) offer numerous other benefits as well - ergonomics. light weight, useful...

    multi frequency

My perspective is that of the layman - just an ordinary guy who enjoys the hobby and trying different machines. Over the years I have owned (or do own) several SMF machines: Etrac, CTX 3030, V3i, Apex, Vanquish 440. I also own several selectable frequency machines - multi Kruzer, Anfibio multi...

    Apex and Bottle Caps

Monte is spot-on. I stated (use of iron audio while in zero mode) bass-ackwards - it doesn't make good targets sound bad, it makes bad targets sound good. At any rate - don't use Iron audio at all when in zero mode, and use iron audio very sparingly when in other modes.
