How to manually ground balance the V3

yazoo- IF the ground isnt changing at all, the offset surely isnt supposed to change, therefor my hunch is, the V is locked solid at its newly assigned offset and will stay that way. I am not 100% sure that the GB actually changes when you are in Loctrac and balanced per the procedure in the...

How to manually ground balance the V3

pointer80 What we are doing here is manually ground balancing the V3 with a technique similar to the older units that had a dial for manual ground balance. In most cases, using the GB procedure in the manual should work very well, in autotrac or tracloc. Using the older styled GB control...

How to manually ground balance the V3

Hi Mike, Glad the manual GB is working out for you. By no means is this method new, It is the very same method I have used in the Spectrum, XLT and DFX. I intentionally set the GB one # positive so I can hear the current ever so slight ground balance setting. Tony

Took My V3i to a pounded site for a hot but short Hunt....:usan:

Hi Julien, Glad you took the time to give the suggestion a try, probably even more so, I am glad it worked for you too. If you want to preach the word of low sens which equates to stability while maintaining good depth and super target ID etc etc, feel free to do so. IMO, it would appear...

Took My V3i to a pounded site for a hot but short Hunt....:usan:

J, knowing what you know about the gain and sens, it should be interesting to try and note the results. I am not suggesting to run it this way, yet, if it works, go for it. The main reason for suggesting it is to see what the settings can do. Hopefully the results will be of some use in...

Took My V3i to a pounded site for a hot but short Hunt....:usan:

While you are at it, try rx gain at 10ish and sens at 1 ! If its quiet, start raising the rx gain towards max and see how you do. This was another eye-opener. Best of luck Tony

Took My V3i to a pounded site for a hot but short Hunt....:usan:

Jbow, May I suggest you try to lower the sens alot and let the V3 do its magic? Here in Fl, the ground is soft and sandy and things usually sink very deep. When I first got the v3, I cranked the sens and gain wayyyyy up thinking more is better. To make a long story short, the settings I...

Took My V3i to a pounded site for a hot but short Hunt....:usan:

Jim, Trashy areas is where my V3i also shines. It's a 'rush' to find anything of value in places you know from experience havent produced anything in a long while. The V3i is able to sort the good targets from the bad with ease. This V3i has definitely woken up my old sites! Tony

First Question ---- Does the audio and the visual function (report) independently of each other?

Mike, I was out today and had a signal that was broken up/iffy at best. It was kinda good sounding but the vdi never hardly came out of the iron range of about -13ish. I was getting a hi tone 50% of the time along with tones all the way down to the iron range growl. It was a 1944 wheat cent...

    can anyone help me............

Had I known, I may have been able to assist you as I was in Sarasota last Thursday. What seems to be happening? Writing about the situation also helps understand the problems a little better too. Give it a shot, I am sure we can assist you in some way if you simply let us know what you are...

    Beware of Black Sand

MIke, Simply put the V in track lock and adjust the offset to get your GB set the way you want it. Raise the coil, pull the trigger and lower the coil to see if you have enough GB set or not. I use this method. Push pad instead of a knob. Tony

    Competition hunt settings suggestions?

IF you have wireless headfones, be sure to pick another channel NOW just in case someone else has the wireless phones as well. Its amazing how far the headfone signal travels even when set at low power.

    Questions about some important adjustments

Mike, This is something you can try which should help you learn to have faith in your settings. Next time you find what appears to be a deep target, go ahead and take the time to lower both the rx gain and the Disc Sens and notice how far in fact you can actually turn the gain and sens...

Trade handheld GPS for a Fisher 1200 series 5 pin coil

Hello- Looking to trade this very clean Garmin Etrex GPS for a Fisher 5-pin coil that fits detectors like a 1236, 1265, 1266 etc etc. I would prefer a smaller than 8 inch coil but would probably accept a common black 8 inch as well. Email me direct if interested. Thanks Tony

Anyone have a 1265 or 66x replacement battery cover plunger button ?

    V3 = Versatility

Instead of turning Threshold OFF, do consider turning the threshold down to ZERO instead. DO a simple air test before and after the changes and see why for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
