    A thought for Tesoro...

    Have used all the Tesoro notch units ever made heres a thought.. Older models had a no motion all metal pinpoint that had audio variances to a trained ear...Golden U-max came with VCO and did away with those variances. How about a toggle on the golden u-max for a choice of VCO or no motion all...

    Heres something to try with your F5....

    Did some experimenting with the pinpoint of the F5 and as gold rings weigh much more than junk that mimics them believe this accounts for audio variances. Certainly no way to tell for sure unless you dig but feel this can cut down the odds and surely a key or lead sinker or large ball of foil...

    Wow this F5 with all its aspects sure lasts long on one 9 volt battery....For sure this is one major aspect old technology versus new as the old units ate batteries without all the bells and whistles...

    Old Pinpoint vs. new VCO pinpoint..

    Very familiar with Tesoro's as lost count of the models I have used over the years.. To a trained ear regular pinpoint had audio variances gold ring versus pulltab...to those experienced folks who have used both does the VCO kill these variances as the new tone version of the Golden U-max...
