    WHY???

Why??? Just to mess with you. The detecting gods like to do that now and then. I feel the same way when I am out at an old colonial site in the middle of the woods and I dig a zincoln at 6 inches. WHY ?????? HOW???? I probably dropped it my self several years earlier.

My new Deus is coming today

I found it very intuitive. I don't want to sound like a broken record but it is good advice,,,,,,,,pick one of the presets and stick with it for a while. Focus on the audio. The best thing I ever did was to put the controller in my pocket. Not sure if you are getting the D1 or D2. Doesn't...

    Discrimination vs. Notch??

If you are using Full Tones, that's what you would do. Create VDI bins and adjust the volume down for the VDI range(s) that you don't want to hear.

    Discrimination vs. Notch??

Ah the great debate! Disc versus Notch. Personally I don't think there is much difference in performance between the two. I am sure others will have different opinions. However if you want to use Iron Volume you do need to run some Disc.

    Opinion on the Deus 1

D1 is a great machine. Plenty deep, great target separation. I loved it. If you can get a deal on a good used D1 you won't regret it. If you are looking to buy new, my humble opinion is that you should go with the D2.

    A Few Deus 2 Questions

Hi E-Trac, I was very proficient with the D1 but it took me a bit of time to get used to the D2. One of the issues though was that the D2 went through 3 or 4 software upgrades when it first came out. I think that slowed the learning curve down a bit. The D2 is not just a souped up D1, it has a...

    A Few Deus 2 Questions

Hey E-Trac, like you I was a long time D1 user. My answers to your questions are: 1, you can run full tones in just about any program, I use Full Tones just about all the time. 2, I think the PWM is even better in the D2 than it was in the D1....especially in Full Tones. Plus you have Pitch or...

    Deus 2 - Vdi scale

Do any multi frequency machines have normalized VDIs? It would be a nice option. My understanding is while it might be possible to do it with multifrequency machines, it would very difficult and use up a lot of computing resources.

    deus one an deus two

As a long time and proficient user of the D1, I will say that the fast multi frequency platform of the D2 offers several advantages. You can find lots of info on the technical differences between the two platforms, so I won't go into that. I will say that the D2 brought my old worn out sites...

Deepest program for XP deus 2

For raw depth I find Relic or Goldfield will hit the hardest in clean ground, but Fredneck, I will try the D2 Mono at 17 kHz next time out.
  17. L

    Are you using tekkna program?

I think most programs lack depth compared to Relic. With Tekkna, lower your Reactivity to 0.5 or 1 and you will get nearly comparable depths.

    WS6 will not power on

Sorry you've had no luck bringing your WS6 back to life yet Dan'O. I think I will charge mine up today. I haven't used it much since I've switched to the WSIIs. Hopefully you can get yours jump started.

    Are you using tekkna program?

I like to try different settings and programs but I keep going back to Tekkna (with a couple of modifications). Set the Reactivity low and it goes plenty deep. Raise the Reactivity up and it is great in iron. I usually run at 24 kHz max and prefer PWM. I sniffed out 6 small buttons today at one...

    Are you using tekkna program?

It is now my everyday program. I made a couple of very minor tweaks and adjust Reactivity as needed. I must say I was very skeptical at first due to the very high Discrimination, but I just can't deny how well it performs in most conditions. I was running a lot of Sensitive Full Tone programs...
