    My last three dirt scratchin's

Two silvers in my last three hunts, 63 quarter and 38 dime. I've had worse believe me. I had quite an enjoyable day out today and met several people asking about the hobby. The inquiries seem to be increasing.

Hey Georgia Canuck...or anyone else that would know

After the first or second time of trying to insert my then new land phones on my then new ATP, I used a little Dielectric grease on the O ring. It was far easier to switch phones then. So now I am wondering what is safe to use as a connection lube beside Dielectric grease. WD-40, Jig-A Loo...

    Ut oh

I was ok with fixing my cracked cuff, but this one initiated a plea for help from Garrett. I should be ok as I'm under a year with the machine. Bummer timing though. :stretcher: I don't consider myself hard on equipment so this is.......... what it is....I suppose.

    Found a few

Mostly crapulance lately but I did find a few coins, silver 52 dime, 54 quarter, scruffed up 1916 L.C. and decent 09 L.C. There was a 1928 bicycle license in the heap. The second that I've found from that year AND a large brass draft horse license with that same year, last season. Too weird. It...

    Super crusty silver

I have never seen silver as crusty as these two today. I popped them from the edge of a highly mineralized half stagnant stream. Any tips other than lemon juice ? for cleaning. These are the the worst that i've seen and I thought that the dime was a copper at first.

    What's the point ?

Go through this thread and take a look. Why are guys paying six times what I payed for my Tejon, just to dig every signal ? I can likely get near everything they do if I was willing to dig every signal. I thought that the point behind the ultra expensive whiz-bang machines was to be more...

    I don't fully understand.

I am hoping that the shinier bulbs out there can help one a little dimmer like myself. So If I am running Pro Zero and simply turn off the Iron Audio does this affect depth in any way ? I want to run this machine to the max. wide open in a field. But I have some serious iron trash patches in...

Isn't this just how it is ?

I have wanted to find one of the Elizabeth 1953 Coronation medallions for a couple of years now. And Of course I found two within a month. This hobby can be so amusingly ironic at times. :detecting: I poped a pic of the second medallion (that I found today) and the very first coronation...

    Got out yesterday

Nothing earth shaking but it was fun, although I felt like I was experiencing some heat stroke ! The pooch tag came from about 1500 miles from were I live, so that was interesting. 41 Wheat, 45, 67, and the last coin excited \ puzzled me for a second when it came out. Nice looking design that I...

    Your two favourite Tesoros

If you could own only two Tesoros which two would it be? And If you could add a brief explanation why, that would be quite helpfull, thanks.

    More kibble n' bits

This is the second bird band that I have found in town with a bone still in it. The wheat back is 1912 or 20 (second from left), it still needs cleaning, which I tend to do over the winter. I love marbles and always watch out for them. This is a strange one. Full of bubbles and what appears to...

A few more bits from the ATP this year

Basically all from a farm field or around a long gone one room school house. The stamped token was hilarious and about half a foot down along what remained of the school foundation. A spurned young lady with poor grammar ?

Some of my first season with AT Pro finds

Here are some of my finds in the first season with my ATP. I'll try to drop in some direct links as I'm unfamiliar with this pic format.

Turns out that I love the AT

Back in the cabin fever days just before spring, my AT Pro arrived. I did some air tests and thought that I had a gimpy machine. Well it turns out that the air tests didn't reveal the machines real capabilities. There are so many features on this machine which I am coming to appreciate, that I...

What do you guys recommend for a scoop ?

Can you please tell me what you use for a water/sand scoop. I would like it to double for dry sand and waist deep water. So far it seems that people prefer stainless over aluminum for toughness. I was thinking larger holes for quick sand/water draining, but I would put some mesh in the bottom...

    AT air tests not impressive

I did a few quick air tests on my AT Pro in my home, away from metal or electrical interference. I was disappointed. In Standard and Pro modes I never got more than 5-6 inches on a nickel or silver dime. Is this normal ? Granted the machine is not set up optimally yet, but I expected more than this.

    curtailing cabin fever

So what did you guys do this winter in areas were the ground froze up, to keep from going bonkers ? I did some ice fishing, a bit of winter day camping and put out some chokers for the easter bunnies.

    Detecting a shallow creek

Has anyone had luck walking in and detecting a shallow creek\river ? There was a fair bit of activity around the turn of the century by a local creek here. I have been wondering if I would make any coin finds by wading through the shallow parts. I would have an eye out for old bottles also. I...

    Buying AT PRO Int.

Good day gentlemen. I just sent off a money order for an A.T. PRO International package with extra water headphones. I don't have any big ambitions to hit the water but it should come in handy on a rainy day. I have been detecting for about 4-5 years now ? I started out with an ACE 250, then...
