    Frozen ground

    Hi. Does frozen ground affect a machines detecting abilities in any way? And........ How cold can you use a Tesoro. Can they handle below zero use ?. I run my old ACE 250 down to about -10-12 Celsius because I'm not too worried if I kill it. I DO NOT want to bugger my Tejon though.

    Another tractor damaged fur trade silver brooch and an ear ring. Last pic is a Native made iron arrow head. Again, all found with ACE 250.

    ACE 250 finds fur trade silver brooch

    I chiseled this out of the frozen muck yesterday. The maker is Narcisse Roy out of Montreal, which infers the North West Company. Best guesses range from 1780-1820. I'll have a jeweler straighten it out as it's only bent.

    kHz and different metals

    I am quite confused when it comes to kHz signals from coils, and what metals sound off in that range. Some say 6-7 khz is a good range for coins and 18 is good for gold, brass, lead. I would LOVE to see a chart explaining what frequencies or whatever, various metals signal on certain coils...

    OK, winter is pretty much here now and the ground is like cement. So it's reading/research time for me. Do you know of any tips/tweaks/enhancements for the ACE 250? I have the 9x12 coil and rain cover. I normaly run one bar below max sens.
