    Just Curious.

I'm thinking you gain about 1" in wet verses dry ground, not really wet conditions but damp conditions.

We've still got around 4" of snow here in WV but warmer weather is just around the corner. In the next few days we should be able to see the ground again.

What voltage do you replace your 9 volt batteries in your detector?

My F5 detector takes two 9 volt batteries, they usually last at least 40 hours of detecting, I replace them when the battery signal starts modulating. The signal will stay steady on the screen and moves on slowly to the left just like your gas gauge does in your car until it gets low and then...

I think I saw a Minelab X-Terra Elite on The Curse of Oak Island

I agree with your thoughts, on that show they use the best equipment that's available. You should be able to find some Bobby dazzlers with your detector.

    Dave Johnson has passed away

I remember him being on this forum some years ago and whenever someone had a question he always was glad to help out with the answer. Also, whenever someone had a different opinion on a subject if he chimed in nobody challenge him on his thoughts. This guy was the final answer.

    Target ID numbers

When you get beyond 6" deep those ID # get inaccurate. If the target stays coin size through the pinpointing rountine that's your best indicator on whether to dig or not to dig.

Too cold to detect? Detecting winter blues.

I drink a lot of hot chocolate, sleep in till around 10:00AM, take a two hour nap in the afternoon and wait for warmer weather. We've got six inches of snow right now and I can't see it going anywhere soon. What's really bad is I've got this really good spot to detect from the last time I...

    Finds up to 1-4-25

I love that 1926D quarter, really good shape. We got 6" of snow and ice here in WV and it looks like it's going to be here for awhile, no warm temps to melt it for at least 2 weeks.
