Seems US repair center is no longer open

Here is the press release: "Nokta Detectors Announces Transition from USA Service Center Partnership - April 16, 2025 - Istanbul, Turkey Nokta Detectors, a leading global manufacturer of metal detecting technology in over 68 countries, announces the conclusion of its service partnership with...

Has SMF reached the depth of P.I. detectors like the Infinium and Seahunter?

I remember the testing you did with that CZ and how deep it was. On the deep gold it heard it well but went full low tone (iron) on it in discriminate mode. Shortly after that I started hunting my CZs in autotune (all metal) and learning to listen to signal width to help identify targets. Thank...

continuing thought on lack of beach finds......

Chairs and umbrellas are rented all along Daytona Beach. They are so expensive to rent that when we flew into the area, we would buy chairs and an umbrella at walmart and give them away to others on the beach on the last day of the trip. Now that we are retired, we drive there and take our own.

continuing thought on lack of beach finds......

I've seen ice cream carts on the beach (the ones where one person is pushing them up and down the beach looking for sales) where they have card swipe terminals for sales transactions. Talked with one of the gals last summer and she said they prefer that because it reduces the chances of being...

    Need advice - lost ring

The erratic readings and erratic beeping could very well be the fence. The user manual can be read here: https://www.minelab.com/__files/f/414492/4901-0300-2%20Inst%20Manual%20VANQUISH%20340%20EN_WEB.pdf

    Need advice - lost ring

When it is jumping around when at the same spot, what is the audio doing? Is it giving a clear tone on a target? If it is just bouncing around randomly and it is interference, turn the sensitivity down until the detector quiets down and is stable.

Any Siesta Keys beach hunters here ??

I've detected Sanibel Island. Not posted, was not an issue. Lots of people. Was able to find and return a pair of 14K earrings a lady laid on her blanket and lost when she flipped the blanket to get sand off it without thinking about the earrings. This was about six years ago.

    Need advice - lost ring

Did you actually see your ring come off? Couple of things ... it takes time to learn detecting. I think you have a good detector to find your ring and one that is not hard to learn how to use. Read the manual and learn to what the detector is telling you and what the settings are. It takes...

Using The 3 Bars On The Vortex Screen On Bi-Metallic Coins To ID Them

Have you tried it on US zinc / copper clad cents?

    Beach confusion…

Turtle nests get marked. If one is stupid enough to dig up a marked nest, then they should be prosecuted. A beach where turtles nest is not why the metal shovel prohibitions on the beaches get enacted. On the Alabama coast, the nesting season normally starts sometime in May.

    Battery replacement for Excalibur II

The Maxxpack was most likely NiMH batteries. With a lithium based battery pack, you really want the circuit board or there is a greatly increased fire risk when charging.

    Beach confusion…

Thank you for filling the hole. Every now and then I run into the same situation; fortunately not often. I hope beach patrol catches up with the guy tells him to fill the holes or get off the beach and don't come back.

    Beach confusion…

Yes. We saw a couple digging a large hole in North Myrtle beach a few years back looking for shells. Talked to them, reminded them to fill it in when they left. Next day heard that an elderly lady fell into the hole and broke a hip. Was still not filled in. Wife and I filled it in. Some people...

    Beach confusion…

The people putting up the umbrellas use a heavy metal T handle rod to make the hole for the umbrella; that is a metal tool. The big beach rake that they clean the beach with every day is a big metal tool. You will see people all over the place using scoops (metal tools) to pick up shells like...

    Beach confusion…

In Myrtle Beach and Panama City Beach where metal shovels have been outlawed, the wording says something like metal digging tools readily available in garden supply stores ... or something like that. I have had no problem using my stainless scoop on those beaches and have not been approached by...

    Gold...sell or hold ?????

I'm still holding. Most of the analysis says it will rise more. https://www.newsmax.com/finance/streettalk/goldman-sachs-gold/2025/02/18/id/1199458/

    Strange problem with Excalibur

That is where I had a crack that gave some very weird detector noises and false signals, but mine did not sound off continuously.
