    Pretty little button

That is a Jacksonian button. The one you have is considered a Patriotic version. Non-Military related. Date range from the 1820s-1830s or so. These were the first 2 piece brass buttons made. Nice button! I have found two but both had the face wiped out.

    History Never Dies

House sites from the mid 1850s aren’t an easy thing to come by or research in my area of the Midwest. There were certainly people homesteading here in this time frame but unfortunately mapping is not available and the records can be tough to sort through. Through genealogy research and census...

    Small change

Just now saw this Jeff. It was definitely a fun day and we appreciated the invite to be a part of it. Here are some pics of the other finds from the day. There is much more there to find!

Holidays are over. Tell me what

My find from 2024 that was a personal favorite/bucket lister would have to be my first ever Civil War Breast Plate. It was found on a site that gave no indication in the research that it would produce any civil war relics. When I first saw it pop up out of the plug, I did not think there was...

    Finds up to 1-4-25

Awesome, thank you for the response. I’m always curious about the different ways people clean and preserve their relics, particularly the brass ones. Great finds!

Past Few Hunt Results To End The Year

Here are the results from my past 3 or 4 detections. Nothing terribly newsworthy but interesting nonetheless as always! There are some overall shots and a couple highlights from each hunt. This is my first post on this site so hopefully it’s not a photo overload! Thanks for looking and best...
