    Polar Plot

    I have detected with a DFX for years and now have a V3i. I know about trusting target ID (dig everything) but I have a question about the (new to me) polar plot. Do you trust it when it shows a target as a big "ball of string"? Using standard coil and Hi Pro program.

    Be sure the coil cord is not flopping around down near the coil, the coil will pick that up and false.

    I'm new here so if this has been covered, my apologies. According to the V3i manual the 22.5 and 2.5 frequencies are best for silver and gold (among others) and the 7.5 frequency is best on brass. So....does it make any sense to turn off the 7.5 when hunting for coin/jewelry?
