    Vaquero surprised me!

I put a big 'ol rusty nail on the ground and discriminated it out. Then put a clad quarter under it and the Vaq hit the quarter hard and kept hitting it with the coil up to 10 inches in the air. Amazing! Not a lot of detectors will do that.

    Tejon/ Vaquero

I know Tesoro's catalog shows the Tejon as a relic machine bu I am wondering if it is better (deeper) on coins than the Vaquero?

    New Coil

Well after some deliberation, I got the 3" x 18" coil for my Vaquero. Got to try it out in a park for about an hour today. BOY - can you really cover ground with that thing. Pinpointing is a snap, just off the tip or the toe, either one. A bit heavier than the stock coil but not bad. No...

    Widescan

I'm thinking the 3 x 18 widescan coil for H.O.T machines might be good for my Vaquero. Soccer fields, open park areas, that sort of thing. Any comments would be appeciated if you have ever tried one of those coils.

    I finally did it

Bought a Vaquero. What a great little machine. I only have about 4 hours of use but already I can ID a penny and estimate whether the target is deep or shallow (I'm no genius, it's all the machine). AND - the very first thing I found was a Susan B.! I have had a DFX for three years and an SE...

    Converting from ID Machines?

I have always been interested in tesoro machines because of their size, weight, reputation, etc. I currently have 2 different ID machines. My question concerns the learning curve I would have if I got - say - a Vaquero. I sure would miss what I can tell about a target ID, even when it bounces...

    Tones

Can anyone tell me why I get high tones sometimes with both low (below 10) numbers with my SE?

    Newbie Question

I have about 3 hours experience with my new SE, all in parks. Today I had a problem I'm hoping you can help me with. I was running in fast, sens at 20 manual, noise cancelled, etc. I would hit a potential target, just one, and get a reading, then in pinpoint got another reading, back to...

    SE

Is the standard coil waterproof? The manual is not specific about that.

New SE - Dumb question no 1

I don't understand Iron Mask when the same area is blacked out by a discrim pattern. What is gained? (lost?).

    New SE guy

Well I just joined the ranks by ordering an SE. Should be here this week. Once it does I will probably be posting all kinds of dumb questions. I am used to running a DFX so maybe the questions won't be TOO dumb.

    For SE Owners........

What do you NOT like about the SE? C'mon now, there must be something! You probably think this is some kind of bomb but it is not, I am thinking of buying one and, before spending that much money, inquiring minds want to know.

    Just a thought.........

Think a GPX 4000 section would work here?

    T2 like DFX?

The T2 sounds a lot like the DFX in being able to tune a variety of things. Anyone have experience with both?

    Golden uMax

I don't ever see a post about this machine. How come? Is it a good one?

    DFX Owner

I have read the EX II manual that I got off the Minelab site. It does not seem to have near as many adjustments as the DFX. Am I missing something? (please, replies from RATIONAL EX II owners only)
