Looking at getting a V3-looking for deep silver.

I live in an area that most of the area is made up of old farmsteads. Even in the towns parks around here, there is original dirt to these farmsteads and find that the 950 is best because of low mineralization a round field pattern. I find deep dimes and trinkets with better audio and a tiny...

There is another thing....even though the use of the 950 is a cost cutting measure, that coil has real advantages. Beware of people saying that a DD is universally superior...that is a half truth. Glad you got such a great deal and welcome to the V.

Looking at getting a V3-looking for deep silver.

The VX3 is an incredible machine that is much more adjustable and powerful than anything at it's price level. It compares to the V3i strongly and for many, would eliminate even considering something slightly lesser in price. There are real $ advantages to considering the V3i but.....the upgrade...

Using Iron Tone 0 and Threshold

Nice little piece of video. I do really like that "pivot thing". Posting pics soon?

V3 using it in the UK.

Hey busman. Look in that manual and figure out which programs were changed, factory restore them and you are set. Hammered are no different than any other target and can easily be adjusted for. Don't give up, just learn that machine. Some fellow Brits are important regulars here and should be...

    My girlfriend and I.

Oh I do know which boat you were referring to! (In fact I just completed reading assays on all successive voyages, Columbus's governorship, and initial Caribbean development.) I was just looking for a new place to hunt!! :beers:

    My girlfriend and I.

Thanks for the link! My family is from northern Spain and Malaga (153 years in the U.S. now) and vacation there. We are all spread from Alaska to Kentucky and still Identify with our Spanish heritage the strongest and have only recently re-established contact with our family there. Again, thanks...

    fade rate

As you learn your machine, a faster fade can work for you well in things like a jewelry hunt. Slower fading works well for deep isolated targets and slow recovery speeds/slow coil movement. After a while, you'll have several programs adjusted and won't need to use it much. (At least I don't.)

    V3i for Prospecting?

When the V3i (Vision) first came out, I responded to a guy who asked whether the V can do gold well. I responded back that it would probably be best to go with a gold machine as what can a "general use box" be expected to do in comparison? I was admonished instantly by folks who had truly great...

    VX3 red, green, blue? bars

Apparently he was showing you the Polar Plot analysis screen. (That is one of a few and it is well liked by many.) The V3i is complex, but so well laid out that I personally think it is easier to learn than the DFX. Big thing to realize is you don't need to get into all the adjusting at once...

    DFX vs V3i

I have no one way to run audio for iron. If I am in nasty stuff I run 5 tone, lower sensitivities as low as 7,8,9 (decent depth for me) and smaller coil. In the more open ground 0 tone with slightly higher threshold volume. Found a hearing aid awhile back all because of assigning tones, lowering...

    DFX vs V3i

I went from a DFX to a V3i and it is two different worlds. You can look around here and specifically look at the folks who are using it in Europe (Lot's of ground history there.) and iron can mostly all be seen for what it is (and with experience even most of those exceptions). There is a curve...
