    Used and abused old lady

This is the most pitiful excuse for a large cent I've ever dug. It appears to have been chiseled at and hammered upon but on the upside it does have a nice clear date:blink: Somebody was clearly in destructive mode.

:surprised: Heart stopper at the park.

Hit the park again this morning and dern near shat myself when I dug a 1778 spanish 1 reale. This park only dates to the late 1920's but there was a lot of moravian activity in the area long before that. I also found my first o mintmark on a 1902 barber dime. What a morning, I love this hobby.

Easily, one of the coolest relics I've found.

Atwood Kent produced radios from 1921 to 1936. This plate dates to 1927 and looks to be brass plated copper. [attachment 198906 CRW_4235.JPG] Here's what it looks like without all the environmental damage. [attachment 198907 ak36-6.gif] And this is the radio, or a similar model that it was on...

Another fair morning in the park

I had some time to kill before the post office opened this morning. $2.41 in clad, 3 wheats and a silver GW to boot. It was kind of drizzly and wet and I was the only fool there.

Big silver :bouncy: This was about a half inch down at the base of a row of arbs. I thought for sure it was going to be a piece of junk.

    Non metal find

I dug a big plug and when I flipped it over this big chunk of quartz rolled out of the bottom. The target was a hunk of lead or pot metal but I only kept the crystal.

    First silver in conductive sounds

I've spent the last week or so hunting in conductive sounds. It took some getting used to after hunting strictly in ferrous for so long but the signals do seem more pronounced and I can see the draw to hunting this way. I was having trouble finding silver so this morning I took a rosie with me...

March was large cent month here in PA

It's doubtful that I'll ever find an older U.S. coin than the 1794 but the 1847 takes the condition cake. I found both of these at the same site about two weeks apart, both in the month of March. HH, Steve

At the third spot I found a Roosevelt novelty token, well most of it. On...

    First day of Spring....

I was really hoping to get out this morning but it's not gonna happen :rage: Tommorow is supposed to be better. [attachment 191676 Spring.JPG] But at least I found this sweetie two days ago. Looks to be a 1919. Pretty worn but I'm glad to have it. I think somebody beat me to this spot and for a...

    FS - 10 Peace Dollars w/1921

Dates are 1-1921 high relief, 1-1922, 2-1923, 5-1924, 1-1925. All but one, 1923s, are Philly mints. All are in circulated condition but would probably grade, at least, between VG and F. 250 shipped, lower 48 only.
