GTI 2500 Between pulltabs and Pennies?

This area on the conductivity scale always seems to turn up lead, brass or junk for me. Has anyone ever found coins or jewelry in this part of the scale while reading a "B" size target? Just curious, Steve

    Gettin' there with the 2500

Rounded up about two bucks this morning before it got hot. Lots of deep clad in this field but no silvers yet. Also dug a few pieces of canslaw that were hitting around foil/nickel.

    Got my 2500 !

I got my GTI 2500 a few days ago. I haven't had a chance to do much with it except practice pinpointing, it's either been raining or just too hot. This thing is a HOT ROD compared to the GTAx and there is certainly going to be a learning period. The one thing I was not overly impressed with was...

Diamond rings and chicken dinners...This is Good!

While doing some research I came across this excerpt from a newspaper dated December 25, 1903 and thought it was worth sharing. Steve in PA; [attachment 129665 Chicken.jpg] Because Mrs. John Dilleo lost her much prized diamond ring and suspected that a chicken had swallowed it, she proceeded to...

Second silver ring at the old homeplace

I hunted for about 20 minutes and found this right in the middle of the yard where I have searched many times. It was about four inches down, all tangled in fine roots. It's a little bent up and skewed but I'll take it. Any ideas on what era?

    Todays findings

The 1927 merc was the very first dig of the day and everything started sliding south afterwards but any silver day is a good day. Also dug two wheaties 1951 and a 1957D. Steve in PA

Old farm hook, nothing special BUT.......

The neighbor guy at my dad's place, where I found it, came up and offered me $200 to find his gold ring that he lost last winter:jump:. He said it was a big 14k ring with a 10k diamond in it. He took me to the search area, very close by, and I searched around briefly but couldn't locate it but...

Will a bigger coil drain the batteries faster?

Just curious. I think I've got a line on a 12.5" coil for my friends GTAx750.. After I give it back to him I figure I can resell the coil and get some of my money back. I found it here on the accessories forum. Steve in PA

Cache of sorts, from a few years ago

Some years ago my dad and my brother were knocking out a section of wall to gain access to the other side of our house as it was a later addition. The main house was built in 1845 according to the peak stone in the attic.[attachment 127143 1845.jpg] Inside the wall they found an old horse whip...

    Howdy

First let me say that you guys take some really good pictures. I started posting to the garrett forum about a year ago but I have been a falconer for almost fifteen and have taken quite a few pictures over the years. I thought you might be interested so these are a few of the better ones. Metal...

A few more goodies from the old homeplace

Today I went at it with almost total distrust in the discrimination and actually did a little better. Sure feels good to be a silverfish again. Steve in PA

    Disapointing gohst town hunt

I took an hour ride today to a gohst town called Freytown. This was a really cool place to visit but from a MDing standpoint it was pretty much unproductive. All I found were a few iron relics, an old door hinge and a 2.5 foot bar. I could still be there digging iron targets but the heat and a...

    GTI 1500 / 2500 depth?

Is the depth of these two units about the same or does the 2500 go a little deeper? Thanks, Steve in PA

    Mixed signals w/ gtaX 750

This has happened to me very often. I will get a good solid bell-tone signal when the coil is just out ahead of the target. When I pinpoint and swing the coil directly over the target the disc. locks down hard on iron. Generally when I've dug these targets the disc was telling the truth and...
