    GTP 1350 Observations = =

You long timers here at findmalls Garrett Forum will know of my on again, off again relationship with the GTP 1350. Recently, I got another one, my third, and took it out today. Suffice it to say I've been using instruments from Fisher and Whites most recently, so there was certainly some...

GARRETT FREEDOM II - Calling Les the Bluenose :super:

Hey Les, I have a shot at a decent Freedom II for $110, w/ 5 x 10 elliptical coil. Care to share a few likes and dislikes about the beastie? I know it has dual mode DISC, which I really liked on other detectors. What do you like? Anybody else?

    Got the 1350 today :clapping:

Works like a charm! Gets a quarter with ease at a measured 8", in the power on, factory settings. ID's it as dime-quarter, too. It didn't stop hitting untiI raised up another couple of inches, say 10"-11". That feels about right. This is a clad quarter that I just leave out in the elements. Its...

    F70 goes to school

Had a little time to swing it today, so headed to the high school. It is only about 2 minutes away and always yields something. Everything from CW items to rings have turned up there over the years. It is one of my favorite impromptu spots. Here's the pouch dump: What a mess! The Suspects...

FINALLY - Got me another GTP 1350!! :clapping:

I found one on ebay for $380 + $5 UPS ground shipping = $385 total. It was a Buy It Now and still has over a year on the factory warranty. It appears to have been used little, and comes with the rain cover. Whew... at last! Now, anybody interested in my ACE 250? I'll make you a good deal....

The Ususal Suspects on a Junket

Got off early from work, since the "24-7 Hammer" will soon fall and they are trying to give all the breaks they can beforehand. This gave a few hours to detect today and I headed to the park for what I like to call a little "Junk-et." Got all the usual suspects. I mostly hopped from place to...

Impromptu Junk-et - the Usual Suspects

Got let off early from work, since the "24-7 Hammer" will soon fall and they are trying to give all the breaks they can beforehand. This gave a few hours to detect today and I headed to the park for what I like to call a little "Junk-et." Got all the usual suspects. I mostly just wandered from...

    Looking for rings - -

I've been on a forced vacation the last week, having too many hours in my vacation bank. I was told I must take some time off and this was as good a week as any. I agreed, of course, because it was a week I could go detecting - sounds like a great week. Well, today is the last day of vacation...

Noticed something about the Classic ID - -

    - - which is, it is easy to use! I had the C-ID along with my Fisher F70 today, in a typically traaaashy park. The C-ID was very "calm" and smooth. It discriminated the iron well and just didn't get jumpy on much of anything. The TID was accurate and I am getting the hang of trash identification...

    Mr.Bill Classic ID vs. Vaquero - -

I've wondered about this detector match-up for awhile now. Just how badly would the high strung Vaquero beat up on the Mr. Bill Classic ID. I mean, it is bound to make the old Classic eat dirt, right? So I tried the Vaquero w/ 5.75" coil against the Classic ID w/BM6000 tonight, same test as...

Was there someone around here looking to get a Golden? I got word that someone was - and mine is a candidate.

Im officially a DUMB A$$ - And Fisher scores some points on yours truly - -

Some of you may recall that I was fussing about my 1236X2 recently. It had gone into the dreaded "VCO Audio Skyrocket Mode," and was unusable for pinpointing. Thinking it was going back to the Fisher Shop, I was worried over some ingracious comments made about Fisher service just the other day...

    Got RABIES???

Snagged this today at the school: [attachment 140580 DSCF0131.JPG] [attachment 140581 DSCF0132.JPG] Self explanatory, I guess. Never seen one before. Its been an aluminum season, so far, I might add. This is the umpteenth aluminum, tokeny sort of thingie I've found. You can see how badly...

Classic ID w/ Mr. Bill mods vs. Troy X2

Got the Mr. Bill modded Classic ID out in the world today for a little swinging. My buddy Hal has a Troy X2, so it was natural to make a few comparisons between the detectors. Lets have a little side by side comparison, eh? Physical features + Weight - Troy wins here. The X2 weighs 2lbs...

Got a Classic ID today - New 2 Me Detector :clapping:

Yep, I've swung around on the wind a little these days and moved back into the White's camp. I've been mucking around with other models and makers over the last few years, eschewing anything in the Whites line. Well, there was that brief stint with an Eagle II SL last winter, but that hardly...
