    Fisher F2 ID

Gotta make a decision quickly. Is the ID on the F2 able to tell the few id #'s difference in the nickel and square tab that mimics it? I've hear it reads nickels 30-33 and those tabs 33-35> Thanks Also, any good points on the machine would be appreciated-I also have the Ace and want to compare it.

Monte, could this duplicate the "homestead rock"....

After power ground balancing my Silver umax and Compadre, I started picking up some signals in the pebble area of a school tot lot and finally found a black rock about the size of a quarter. Taking it back home, I tested it in a/m mode with my Royal Sabre, which I believe you said had the true...

Question for Monte or Compadre specialist.....

I'm sure the Garrett AT Pro is gonna be a fantastic machine, but am I wrong in assuming that my Compadre can do most of the same things-ID features excluded? I can find coins under nails and iron trash BETTER than my Silver umax and other name brands, not to mention the fact that it will pick up...

    That amazing Compadre

Two weeks after getting mine and experimenting, I finally found (between the "i" and "r" in "iron") a place where nails, paper clips are either rejected or break up, depending on the size of the item. Today I found a 14k gold thin chain with a good signal. Taking out my Silver umax and waving it...

Pot shot question =has anyone ever used BOTH a Golden umax AND a Royal sabre?

I've had my eye on the Golden because of the ED-180 and I've heard it has a fast response. Well, I got a 5.75" coil and put it on my Royal Sabre and put it back into service and dang! it's fast in response and I think I don't really have any reason for the Golden. I can even get the tones to...

    For Royal Sabre users...

I keep reading the posts on the Golden umax and it seems like, except for the ED-120 discrimination, I can duplicate this detector. Has anyone ever compared them? It doesn't seem that there's that much of a change in over 20 years. I have the really fast recovery, and the depth is there. Thanks>

    Am I just too serious...?

I 've been neglecting my Royal Sabre and the tone ID because my Silver umax is ED-120 and I'm afraid of missing gold rings. It seems like all I've added is a lot of small foil to my trash pouch. l have found many rings and except for ONE teeny ring they've all been in the foil range and totally...

    Need everyone's input....

I love my Ace w/sniper coil and now it's getting time for retirement and the latter part of my life. How much difference will I be able to notice between the Ace and the GTI 1500? I've heard everything from it being comparable to,say, a White's MXT to I would be just as happy with my Ace. Thanks.

Uncle Willy, have you ever heard of anyone...

using the sniper coil in a competition hunt? I've been really flying with mine and have been thinking about a video called the "Flying Ace". I got to reading about the "slow response" of the Ace so I took a nickel and drew back the Ace like a golf club and tried my hardest to swing it past the...

    Well, I'm a different hunter, now.....:sadwalk:

Made a new friend named Chad at a local park tot lot and watched him use his SS umax and got to talk later. So today I decided no more discrimination over min. disc. for a while. Then, about 4 things confirmed my decision. Dug about 20 pulltabs and in the process found a tiny gold-looking...

Just saw a youtube of the Tejon vs. F75...

The guy shows the Fisher picking a bullet up 7" and the Tejon just an occasional blip. Only thing that bothered me was the quick glimpse of where the Tejon was set-sounded like in the disc mode and the Fisher in a/m mode. Also, the comments section had been disabled. Hmm-m-m.

    A serious Tejon question....

About 4 years ago I was seriously interested in this machine, but found a way to put a "tab check" with toggle switch on my Silver umax to where it operated similar to the Tejon. Lately my interest has been piqued again, especially after today when I was using my Silver in this manner(I normally...

    How does the Golden....

give the iron or rolling tone if the disc.'s ED-120? Are there tones in the a/m mode? Thanks

Monte, I think this is right......

I replaced my metal coil screw on my Silver umax with a nylon one and it seems to have lowered the ED-120 just a teeny. I notice a lot more clicking around iron objects-just this week I found a set of keys that were more like tin than brass with a large steel ring that was well rusted laying in...

    Helped a new Acer today....

Was out at my favorite ballpark and had decided to use the sniper coil at sensitivity 2 to have a chance at one particular spot nobody dares hunt-full of screwcaps (deep) and large metal scrap. All of a sudden I'm looking at a young guy with a shiny new Ace he got on E-bay and a shiny 12" coil...

    Has anyone tried this?....

I had heard that the newer motion machines had adjusted for the metal screw and nut on the coil, so for all these years I never fooled with my Silver umax. Since my Royal Sabre was the older machine, I tried it and found some improvement. Finally, today I could resist the urge no longer and...

Not the best sniper coil post....

I was so excited about how it changed my hunting=I HAVE found enough coins since Christmas to pay for it. Just the past two weeks I found two gold rings with it-well-ahem-er-sorta. Okay, so I EYEBALLED them before I went over the coil with them:biggrin: The first one registered as foil and the...

    The sniper coil arrived.....

First of all, let me say I can see why others would consider the Ace for finding gold nuggets. I was finding BB size brass objects with ease in the Relics mode-must have come off a bracelet. The gold-plated cross was a special find. For some reason when I got the smooth mid-tone, I decided to...

A try at the a/m mode....

Not bad! I had a couple of hours that only turned into about 15 minutes because of a HUGE thunderstorm that sent me packing. The neat thing was the two junk rings that were cut into-they gave the iron sound-same as the washer and tie pin fastener. Also the junk bracelet gave the iron sound. The...

OK, guys, gals-let the Ace tips pour in...!!!

Well, it was hinted that there was a hidden feature on the Ace in one post and immediately ears went up all over the place. This gave me a great idea for a post-let's just fill this post up while it's bad weather time of the best Ace tips or whatever you have found on your use of the Ace. I'll...
