    What would you do?

Submit your story to White's and the Best Finds of 2009. Be honest and tell them you found a few old coins and ask them if they have any interest in them. If they say no, offer your services to them anytime for lost jewelry or property stakes. If they say yes then tell them you would like to...

    Coin collecting

Since most metal detectorists are coin collectors I hope this appropriate here. I wanted some feedback on selling coins. I know alot of people keep everything they find and that's fine, but those of you who don't, at what point do you try to get a premium/better price for coins? Let's use...

    arnie161 A-OK by me

Just completed a trade with arnie161 and would like to say that he's top shelf in my book. Received 2 very nice MD's from him. And like I told him, I had to look very hard to see they weren't brand new. This guy takes good care of his stuff. Dave

    Spectra V3/Vision Excel Spreadsheet

jbow - When had my DFX I photocopied some sheets like this out the back of the owner's manual. This gave me a space to write in changes I made, room for Larry's program, suggestions from other people on the forum. Then I had it for a reference whenever I needed it without having to fire up the...

V3 and /or ML Etrac- - - -?? I don't recall seeing anything conserning the difference between the two regarding the weight:shrug:

My V with headphones and batteries weights just over 4 lbs. With the headphones on your head it should under 4 easy.

    Question on probability % number...

I have noticed very low probability numbers ( like 2% ) yet the VDI was correct for the coin.

Incredible quantities of copper, not much silver

A yard with 27 wheats and no silver could be from alot of things. 1940-1950 a penny could buy something. Maybe they were leftover from an Easter egg hunt or milk money dropped by school kids, lost running after the ice cream truck, who knows. If you subtract the 27 from the 70 your ratio...

Testing the two Big guns.... Toddy..

I would take the two machines I wanted to compare and a cute little college girl who needs to make a few bucks, and go to a new site. Find a target with one machine while she holds the other. then switch machines with her and scan the area again with the second machine and compare the readings...

    I have a question.

Thank you Larry, I have been resisting the urge to play with the expect menu until I really get a feel for this beast. I had thought about that. It was actually a big selling point for me. Never heard of the back to back ground balance trick. So I guess I wasted a year using my DFX. No wonder...

Coinshooting / high trash deep coil

I'm getting off topic here, but I feel that ground balancing the DFX is far faster (turn on and go) than the Vision (V3). I'm always wondering if I let go of the enter button too soon or if I've pumped it enough times. With the DFX once the screen came up I knew I was ready. Dave

    I have a question.

If I use my Vision or V3 in coin and jewerly for example which allows VDI#s from 0 to 95. And I decide to block out #56 (zinc cents and screw caps). What percentage of depth lost should I expect? And if I blocked out common pulltab numbers like 15 and 25 also, would that be chopping up my...

    This is kinda strange

Many of my silver coins have come from well hunted sites and been shallow. (3 or 4 inches). I always thought that was strange.
