    I have a 4x6 coil I haven't used yet. What would you set the rd at using it? Also do I program the v3i for a different coil? Any other setting adjustments with smaller coil? I am new to this detector.

    The last ground I hunted was very trashy so a rd of 50 down from 80 should help I guess.

    It is my understanding the lower the rd the faster the response.. Coin program on v3i is factory set at 80. Lowered it to 50 and got a better response with a coin at each side of coil. My question is what do most of you run your rd at when hunting.

    What factory program should a beginner use to learn.Coins or coin and jewelry seem to be my choice. Also is one of these two programs hotter or give more depth? I used the xlt for years so not a beginner to md but the v3i is new to me.
