Gold, Big Silvers and 1872 Indian

Thanks Rick! Yes, that Deus 2 is an amazing machine once you learn its nuances. I did hit a silver and a few coins back to 1900 about 30 miles from you in a couple parks so there are still a few hiding around there. Dave

Gold, Big Silvers and 1872 Indian

Finds are from the past few weekends since my last post. All finds are with my XP Deus 2 metal detectors. Most of the finds are from North Dakota with a few coming from Minnesota after the snow hit. Everything was found at researched public sites except the Axe head was found at a field site...

Another great beach hunt big silver!

Mark, Nice job on the big silver! Those big silver Franklins are nice to see. That silver buckle piece is cool also. Dave

    Very odd puffy quarter

That is a very odd quarter which makes it cool Mark. I suppose it was in a fire which made it expand? If not, it would be a rarity of stamping error. Dave

Last few hunts up to 11-10-24

Great assortment of finds and really nice post. I really like that 1930 Chauffeur badge with the star on it. I have found a few from Minnesota. I have found a few of those ignition pieces over the years. The vast variety in your finds tells me you know your machine well. Well done! Dave

    I found … Mount Rushmore!

Nice variety of finds. Always good to see buffalos and mercs. Those pressed penny souvenirs are always interesting to find also. That '17 penny year does seem to be a little thick. Hard to tell if it is part of corrosion or some stamping error. Dave

    11/8/24 hunt..

Congrats on the merc and silver Roosevelt Ted. I also like that Susan B Anthony dollar as they don't come up often. 7-dollar coins is a great score. Dave

Old Quarter, Tiny Dime and a Couple Interesting Toys

I have 2 XP Deus 2 machines I use. One has a stock 11-inch coil and the other has 11x13. I use a custom program I built which somewhat parallels the behavior of FBS machines like Minelab Etrac and Explorer, since that is hardwired into my brain. I started on these and used them for many years...

Old Quarter, Tiny Dime and a Couple Interesting Toys

Thanks Jeff. Here is a closer shot of that buckle shortly after finding. My wife informed me that is probably the back side as the stones were missing on the front. Was a very deep target in a park that formerly had old housing.
