14K Gold Chain....gold plated silver heart....I'll take it!

There's an old ball park not far away from where I live and today, I detected there awhile, gathering lot's of pulltabs......you know the story right!!! Well, this literally was my last dig. I just got a call from a family member requesting a ride to somewhere and I texted back that I was...

Even here in 'sunny' Southern California, we are getting some chilly weather! This was Huntingdon Beach yesterday!

My heaviest gold ring 14.5 grams.

Things are a little slow as far as detecting good targets so I was going back through photos of past finds and was remembering when I detected this gold ring off a beach in Ventura about 4 years ago. It sounded like I had a rock clanging around in my sand scoop! I was so thrilled to see this...

    925 ring and bullet.

It's always interesting what you can dig up in your local park! I thought the silver ring was pretty cool with the well worn Egyptian kind of design.

Most tot-lots are not metal detectorist user-friendly!

Many tot-lots have equiptment that will give you a nasty head banging if your not careful! :wacko:and they sure can be metal detectorist user UN-friendly! Most of the time, I wear a baseball cap that absorbs some of the impact but it still comes as a painful surprise when your looking down and...

    U.S. Army button.

While not rare or worth much, it's always fun to detect items like this U.S. Army button 3 inches down in a local park!

Another metal detector added but the Safari is still #1!!

FYI .......I recently added this Whites Goldmaster II to my metal detector collection! I'm always scanning the Craigslist add's for metal detector's for sale and as soon as I saw this one listed for only $40, I called the guy up and bought it as fast as I could!! It was missing the battery...

A Pirate ring with very bad mojo!

I empty my pouch before each hunt so this morning before going out, I emptied it on a trash bag and I spied this 'pirate' ring looking up at me! I did not know it was there and so my son and I had a good laugh that I missed this one! It's just a junk ring but it sure has some freaky mojo about...

    Gold 14K Ring......2nd for 2015!

My Safari led me to another gold ring today! After digging a bunch of tabs/ring pulls and assorted junk along with a handful of coins, I went over to an area where I've seen soccer being played in the past. I went and detected around what I think they used for goal posts.....2 bushes and after a...

    Gold 14K Ring....2nd for 2015!

Did a little detecting in a local park that gave me a gold ring awhile back. I zero-ed in on an area that some guys play soccer on the weekends. I was getting lot's of dime and quarter signals so I knew there had been coin spills and lot's of past activity. I eyed 2 small shrubs that I figured...

    Goldmaster II question/s..Thanks!!

Hi everyone! This is a first for me posting on the Whites Forum and I hope someone can offer some set up tips for my recently purchased detector. This past week I was looking in the Craigslist listings under 'Metal Detectors' (I'm always watching for good deals)! and saw this Goldmaster II for...

My 'today's find'! did I do good?

$40 off Craigslist! It was missing the battery holder but a quick trip to Radioshack and for less than $3, I got an 8AA battery holder for it. I downloaded the manual and now to take it up to the mountains and start collecting gold nuggets:thumbup:

A good example of a lawnmower ring!!

I thought I had another gold ring when I had a solid 12 (M.L. Safari) at about 3 inches in the same park as I had found my 14K last week. As you can see, it had been in a battle with a park lawnmower and got beat up bad! I I thought it was white gold and still worth $$$ in scrap gold but was...

A good example of a lawnmower ring!!

I thought I had another gold ring when I got a solid 12 at 3 plus inches in the same park as I got my 14K ring last week. As you can see, it had a battle with a park lawnmower and got beat up bad!!! I thought it was possibly another white gold ring that obviously was still worth $$$ in scrap...

    14K ring with diamonds!

I posted this find on the 'Today's Find' forum but didn't include any details there. This ring TID'd at 15 which you know is usually a pulltab and 14-15 a nickel signal!! So, although I don't always dig '15' signals unless they sound different from a pulltab, I will be digging more 15's just in...

First gold of the year....14K white gold with diamonds!

I hit a local park today and just 15 minutes into the hunt....BAM!!!!! The first gold ring for 2015.....14K white gold with 11 diamonds (tested them to confirm) size 11 1/2 and 9.78 grams. It's not quite 3pm here and it's a beautiful day so I'm off back to the park to hopefully find another...

A first for me...a matching pair of rings!!!

I had a great day today! The skies were overcast and looking like it was ready to rain but I still got out and started to detect a local park. Part of the park is sectioned off for dog owners to exercise and train their dogs and I plan to get in there and detect it when there are no dogs around...

    925 Silver Ring

I got a solid 39 AND the recognisable silver tone! on my Safari yesterday. Sure enough, a silver ring at about 4 inches. It was bent and in reshaping it, it split unfortunately. Ah well, it'll go in the silver scrap pile which I'll sell when silver gets close to $50 an ounce again! Another...

    Nail and screw icons!

I have crossed saved in the past but after cross saving again, this is what was displayed. I have never seen these icons! Maybe I'm getting memory problems!!!:stars: Have you seen them before?

    Gold ring?

The rain let up this morning and the sun came out so I went detecting for a little while. I got excited seeing this ring just for a few seconds down there in the dirt. Yep, another junk ring but hey, I'm getting closer to the real deal.....maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow?
