    Under Audio in the wireless headphone there is a box to turn the speaker on or off. You may have un-checked it and a turned the speaker off.

    Sending them back in with my detector Whites replaced the head phones and worked on the detector. I have not had an issue with them since I got them back.

    The Vs have a high learning curve to get the most out of them which some are not willing to put into the machine. I still have my DFX and Eagle as backups and loaner detectors. I have had great success with the V#i.

    Rain & New Place to Hunt

    With intermittent showers moving through the area you just need to be prepared with heavy zip lock bags and rubber bands. It will keep the electronics dry in an emergency but not very good in a hail storm.

    just picked up a V3i!

    I purchased the 5.3 with my bonus bucks at the time I received the V3i. I also have the 4x6 which is a good coil. Of the two I find the 5.3 easier and faster to pinpoint, very stable at higher coil settings and very good depth. I tend to use it the most in trashy areas.

    I saw that no one has answered your question and too have certain tones that don't work for me. You can on a V3i and may be able on a VX3. On the V3i it is under Audio then Tone to adjust the pitch of the Fixed Threshold if this function is available on the VX3.

    Yes, I do have several huning buddies with wireless. We will give it a try. Tried a set of wired head phone that work ok. Just do not sound as good as the wireless.
