Vision or V3 Users Sitting on the Fence

Hi David, My original Vision behaved as you described ... lots of noise, falsing and flashing on the display. Like you, I made all of the adjustments following forum advice that should have calmed the Vision down but did not. In addition, I own a bunch of coils for my MXT so I tried them all...

Wired headphones that function in stereo will work just fine on the V3i. Bob

What do detectorist use to put dirt on while digging a hole

A cheap paper plate works well for me. When finished with it, I fold it twice and put it in my finds pouch. The cheap thin plates are very flexible and when folded take up very little space.

    Newbies 1st V3i Question

A few years ago while doing some program testing I noticed exactly what you are describing. There seemed to be more recovery delay when swinging from one direction than from the other direction.. A few days later while doing more testing, the delay difference disappeared. After some head...

    COOL Coil ?

I have read a few posts indicating that heat accelerates the null drift of V rated coils. If that is true, then it stands to reason keeping coils cooler should slow down the null drift. Since black items absorb more heat than similar white items, Jerry seems to have a seriously good idea to...

    pinpointing ?

Hi redbird, I just read a post somewhere saying that SAT (Self Adjusting Threshold) is shut off when the Spectra is put into pinpoint mode. My understanding of the post is that with SAT off, the threshold volume can drift and the longer it is in pinpoint the more it can drift. Evidently the...

    VISION upgraded to V3i

Rob, From the first paragraph of your reply, I got the impression that you thought I knowingly posted a misleading statement. Evidently, that is not what you meant. I apologize for misinterpreting your reply. White

    VISION upgraded to V3i

It sounds like your V3i is working well for you. A thumbtack at 9" is a good indication of some great deep finds to come. And, any day silver pops out is a great day. Good fortune Bob

    VISION upgraded to V3i

Hi Rob, In my original post, I never said that a V3i is deeper nor quieter that a V3. What I tried to describe was my original Vision suffering from an intermittent fault of some sort. And, I stated that when it returned from White

    VISION upgraded to V3i

Last fall I bought an original VISION used. At first it was fun to hunt with performing very well and locating some surprisingly deep targets. As time and hunts passed the VISION became less fun. False signals slowly increased and VDI indications were increasingly less stable. I read the...

I bought me a new machine, the V3i

Congratulations for getting the V3i and the good finds it is producing for you. In fact, your finds are actually great considering the hunt sites have been hammered.

    Quiet = deeper

Hi Rob, With my MXT, I found that the detector ran much smoother when working in a high trash area if I did a good Ground Balance and LOCKED the Ground Tracking. I also discovered that if I left the switch in Ground Tracking, the GB would drift a bit when working a high trash area. There was...
