    Spectra... first thoughts

Good for you Julien. Sounds like the dealer, distributor, and manufacturer all have their act together. Good luck and happy hunting with your new detector.

    Spectra... first thoughts

Hey Julien, I agree with a lot of what Erik is saying, actually all of it. I think your dealer should take the machine back and have his distributor get an updated machine rushed to you from Whites. The dealer and the distributor should be aware of all the updates that have come up since the...

    Short Relic Hunt With SE

First off Thanks to Jonathon, he couldnt hunt today but gave my brother and myself the OK to hunt one of his spots in Resaca. Found a 69 musket ball, Gardner, and Enfield, all dropped and in good shape. Not too bad for an hour and a half in a heavily hunted area. Would post pics but can't get...

    First Time Out With SE

Used Bryce's Iron Mask settings from Andy's book. Found 9 memorials, 1 clad dime, 2 wheats (1927 & 1955), 1 Canadian cent (1932). Dug a couple of pull tabs and several screw caps. Nothing very deep, the deepest coin was the Canadian @ 5+ inches. I did dig a nail that squeaked through @ 7 or so...

    Another SE newbie here.............

.......I'm sure I will have plenty of questions.Any and all advice is welcomed. Andy's book came with the machine and I'm sure it will be a big help. By the way, Richard at Backwoods is absolutely GREAT to deal with. And so is Don at North Ga. Relics. Barry

    My Safari Is Gone........

 but I do have an Explorer SE on the way:clapping:. The opportunity came along and I could not pass up the trade. The Safari is a great detector and I will miss it. I hope that being somewhat familiar with the FBS tones will give me a leg up on learning the SE. I'll still be lurking around...

Finally Got The Safari Over Silver

Went to an old church that is no longer in use yesterday. Got a 1943 mercury dime @ 9 inches, also some clad. Really had to work for the dime, it was under 6" of hard packed gravel and then 3" of red clay. Took a picture but I can't get it small enough to post. Barry

    Safari Sounds Video

There is a VERY GOOD video on the M.L.O. TV site that demonstrates Safari tones in ferrous and conductive audio. I wish Gordon had posted it 4 monthes ago, but glad it is finally there. It's in the new video group or you can search "Safari Sounds". Barry

    Need A New Spot

Hey Guys, I'm really enjoying all the pics of your great finds. The woods are thick and the snakes are crawling around here so I am avoiding my favorite relic spots right now. I need to find a good coin hunting spot. What little coin hunting I have done was in the 1980's and I found more than my...

    Saturday Relics

Got out for a couple of hours Saturday morning to my little "bullet hill" in Resaca. Woods are getting thick and snakes getting active so I was very cautious. Anyway, I dug 4 minie balls and six round balls, probably case shot, in 30 square ft. area. Depth was from 6" to 12" and I.D. was 33, 34...
