One of my best US coin finds

found this coin this afternoon and thought maybe you guys would like to see it. I have found several reale's in this area before but early US coins is my thing. Was using the X-70 with 10.5 DD coil. The photo's don't do it justice.

    ID help

I found this this afternoon, hoped it was a coin but I do believe it is an agriculture token of some sort. Can anyone ID this or give me a clue as to where to find info? Thanks

    Back to the 1812 site

I know you guys remember Mr.Lucky-he found the 1812 LD plate last Sunday. Well-he was head of the class again today. This is a picture of his finds-mine were hardly worth posting. The eagle button with the script R along with the US buttons are all from the 1812 era. We are beginning to think...

    Back to the colonial site

Back to the colonial site today. We all had a fair day today-But Mr. Lucky strikes again. I just don't know, Mr. Lucky is truly lucky. Anyway-can anyone ID this plate and give some sort of time frame? We have only found 1812 items here. Thanks

    colonial finds

Went to another colonial site I found this week, me, Mr. Lucky, and my detecting buddy, who from now own I will call JPS. Most of the finds weren't really something to brag about as they were worn. As usual Mr. Lucky found the Reales-both from the 1780's. He also found 2 of the US...

    More Colonial finds

This site must have been active for a long time, found revolutionary and civil war stuff. The better finds for me today were a civil war "I" button. Backmarked "fine gold plate"? Also 2 cuff links, a near perfect musket ball, and some type of "screw thing", and a nice flat button. No Cobbs...

    colonial finds

Here are some of the better finds I and my son(Mr. Lucky) have found at a colonial site. Mr. Lucky was using his MXT and I made my finds with the X-70 and 10.5DD coil. Even the small Cobb coin was found with the 10.5DD coil. I found the 1865 2 cent, 1863 Indian Head and the small Cobb . It...

    Tejon Sensitivity

How many of you Tejon owners run the sensitivity past 10 into the red and put up with the chatter in order to get more depth?

    SE help please

Just cranked up my new SE today for the first time. There are 2 things that are confusing me to start with. 1. The sounds change but the numbers on the display stay the same for at least 10 seconds it seems-unless I pick the coil up a foot off the ground, then they "reset". 2. I have a...

    Advantage find

I really wish we had an Advantage forum-I really like this machine and love to read what you guys say about it-all good stuff. Anyway-found this 1743 Georgivs II coin this morning in the woods about 50' from an old colonial road. One my oldest.

    Setting the GT's sensitivity

I have searched and read every post on sensitivity but didn't see anything that explained setting it for a max usable setting. I have seen where it said set on 11 or 12 o'clock. I have read that to much sensitivity causes loss of depth. It looks like sensitivity is one of the main keys to using...

    Why calibrate meter to 180?

The manual says 170 for a quarter. On all other machines the TID has room for a few more readings above the quarter(I.E. the X70 which the quarter reads 42, the half reads 44, and the silver dollar reads 46). Wouldn't calibrating the 180 meter to 170 on a quarter leave room for the more? I...
